Mestranol, Norethindrone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Lemongrass interacts with.

Theoretically, lemongrass might decrease the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.
Animal research shows that lemongrass and its constituent citral inhibit CYP3A4.

This birth control combines mestranol (which your body turns into the estrogen ethinyl estradiol) and norethindrone, a progestin. Both hormones are cleared in part by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab and animal studies hint that lemongrass, and its lemony compound citral, may slow that enzyme down a little. In theory, that could let your hormone levels run slightly higher, which might mean more of the usual estrogen-type side effects like nausea, breast tenderness, bloating, or spotting.

The important part: this is only test-tube and animal evidence, not proof in people. The pinch of lemongrass in cooking or an occasional cup of tea is very unlikely to matter. If you're using concentrated lemongrass supplements or the essential oil regularly, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on things.
