Beclomethasone falls under CORTICOSTEROIDS — the group Lily-of-the-valley interacts with.

Theoretically, using lily-of-the-valley with prolonged corticosteroid therapy can cause cardiac glycoside toxicity.
Lily-of-the-valley contains cardiac glycosides. Concomitant, long-term corticosteroid use can increase the risk of cardiac glycoside toxicity due to potassium depletion and electrolyte imbalance.

Here's the thing to know about pairing lily-of-the-valley with your beclomethasone inhaler. This plant contains natural cardiac glycosides, which act a lot like the heart drug digoxin. The worry isn't that beclomethasone breaks the plant down or vice versa. Instead, corticosteroids taken over a long stretch can lower your potassium and throw off your body's electrolytes, and low potassium makes those heart-acting compounds far more dangerous. That combination could, in theory, trigger cardiac glycoside toxicity, meaning an irregular or dangerously slow heartbeat, nausea, or confusion.

I'll be honest, this is a theoretical concern based on how these substances behave, not strong human studies. But lily-of-the-valley is genuinely poisonous and shouldn't be used to treat anything. Please don't take it, and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Beclomethasone Oral Inhalation Used For?

Brand names: Beclovent, Vanceril

Beclomethasone dipropionate HFA inhalation aerosol (the oral inhaler, sold as Qvar Redihaler) is used for the long-term, preventive treatment of asthma in people 5 years of age and older.

It is not a rescue inhaler. It does not relieve sudden asthma symptoms such as shortness of breath. The nasal spray form, Qnasl, appears in the supplied label text in studies of allergic rhinitis (nasal allergy symptoms), but no approved uses for it are listed there.
