Nitrendipine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Lime interacts with.

Animal research shows that phenolics in lime juice inhibit cytochrome P450 3A4. This has been demonstrated in rats treated with sildenafil, a CYP3A4 substrate, and high doses of lime juice.

Here's the gist with nitrendipine, a calcium channel blocker that lowers blood pressure. Your body clears it using a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab and animal studies suggest that certain plant compounds in lime juice can slow that enzyme down. If that happens in people, less of the drug gets broken down, so more stays in your system. That could mean a stronger blood pressure effect, with things like dizziness, flushing, headache, ankle swelling, or feeling lightheaded when you stand up.

The honest caveat: this is based on animal and test-tube research using high doses of lime juice, not human studies. A squeeze of lime on your food is very unlikely to cause trouble. Still, if you're using concentrated lime products, check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
