Liver Extract + Tobramycin
Tobramycin brand names: Nebcin, Tobi Podhaler, Bethkis, Kitabis PAK.
We found no known interaction between Liver Extract and Tobramycin in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Liver Extract and Tobramycin
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Tobramycin and Liver Extract in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Tobramycin
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Tobramycin is filed under 4 classifications — including aminoglycoside antibiotics, antibiotic drugs, nephrotoxic drugs. Liver Extract has documented interactions with 2 drug classes — the most serious being iron (minor) and warfarin (coumadin) (minor) — and none of Tobramycin’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.
Liver Extract Does Interact With Other Medications
Liver Extract has 3 minor known drug interactions in our database — Tobramycin isn’t one of them. If you take anything else, check it against the full list below.

The most serious there right now: Activated Charcoal (major), Asarabacca (major), Siberian Cocklebur (major), Aristolochia (moderate) and Bacillus Coagulans (moderate).
By severity: 3 major · 38 moderate · 11 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Tobramycin page
“Kidney protection is the first thing to understand with tobramycin (Nebcin, Tobi Podhaler, Bethkis, Kitabis PAK), an aminoglycoside antibiotic that can stress the kidneys even on its own, so this list warrants genuine care rather than a quick glance. The worst pairings, Siberian cocklebur and asarabacca, can injure the kidneys themselv…”

About Liver Extract
What is Liver Extract?
- Anemia and low iron
- Vitamin B12 support
- General energy and fatigue
- Nutritional support for athletes
- Liver health support
Liver extract is a dried or concentrated form of animal liver that is naturally rich in iron, vitamin B12, vitamin A, and other nutrients. It was once used to treat certain anemias before purified vitamins became available, but today there is little modern evidence that it offers benefits beyond what a balanced diet or standard supplements provide. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you are pregnant, have liver disease, or have iron overload conditions.
Liver tissue, usually from cattle (beef) or pork · Capsules, tablets, powders, desiccated (dried) liver supplements, and injectable forms (prescription/historical)
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Liver Extract is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Liver Extract record says about it on its own.
Liver Extract: dosing
There is no official, standardized dose of liver extract, and products vary widely in how concentrated they are. Different brands also contain different amounts of vitamin A, iron, and B12.The safest approach is to follow the dose on the product label and not exceed it. They can help you decide whether you actually need it and whether a standard, purified vitamin would be a safer, more reliable choice.

About Tobramycin Injection
What Is Tobramycin Injection Used For?
Brand names: Nebcin, Tobi Podhaler, Bethkis, Kitabis PAK
Tobramycin Injection is used to treat serious and life-threatening bacterial infections caused by susceptible bacteria. It is approved for adults and children for infections of the blood (septicemia), lungs and airways, brain and spinal cord (meningitis), abdomen, skin, bones, and urinary tract.
Because antibiotic resistance is a growing concern, Tobramycin Injection should only be used when there is a proven or strongly suspected bacterial infection. Your care team will use culture and lab results to confirm it is the right choice.

Tobramycin Is Linked to Lower Levels of 8 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Tobramycin as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Liver Extract — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
