Animal research suggests that high doses of Manchurian thorn can induce liver damage. Theoretically, concomitant use with other potentially hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of developing liver damage.

Here's the simple version: this isn't about one drug changing how the other is processed. Instead, both Interferon Gamma-1b (Actimmune) and Manchurian Thorn can each put some stress on your liver. Interferon gamma-1b can sometimes raise liver enzymes on its own, and animal studies hint that high doses of Manchurian Thorn might do the same. Stacking two things that can each strain the liver could, in theory, add up.

I want to be honest with you, though: this concern is theoretical and based mostly on animal research, not real cases in people. Still, watch for warning signs like yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness. Before adding this supplement, please check with your doctor or pharmacist, since your liver labs may already be monitored.

What Is Interferon Gamma-1b Injection Used For?

Brand name: Actimmune

Actimmune (interferon gamma-1b) is approved for two specific inherited conditions. First, it reduces how often and how severely serious infections occur in people with chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) — a rare inherited disorder where certain immune cells can't fight off infections properly.

Second, Actimmune is used to delay disease progression in patients with severe, malignant osteopetrosis (SMO) — a rare inherited bone disorder where bones become abnormally dense and the immune system doesn't work as it should.
