Animal research suggests that high doses of Manchurian thorn can induce liver damage. Theoretically, concomitant use with other potentially hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of developing liver damage.

Here's the concern with pairing Manchurian Thorn and Leflunomide (Arava). This isn't about one speeding up or blocking the other in your bloodstream. Instead, it's a teamwork problem for your liver. Leflunomide is already a drug that can stress the liver, which is exactly why your doctor checks your liver enzymes with regular blood tests while you take it.

In animal studies, high doses of Manchurian Thorn have been linked to liver injury. So in theory, taking both could add up and raise your risk of liver trouble. Watch for things like yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain on the upper right side, or unusual tiredness. Keep in mind this is a theoretical concern, not a proven one. Still, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Leflunomide tablets — sold under the brand name Arava and as generic leflunomide — are used to treat active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in adults. Both Arava and generic leflunomide tablets are FDA-approved for this use.

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune condition in which the immune system attacks the joints, causing pain, swelling, and stiffness. Leflunomide helps calm that overactive immune response to reduce symptoms and slow joint damage.
