ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Prabotulinumtoxina-Xvfs
Prabotulinumtoxina-Xvfs falls under ANTICHOLINERGIC DRUGS — the group Marjoram interacts with.
Some anticholinergic drugs include atropine, benztropine (Cogentin), biperiden (Akineton), procyclidine (Kemadrin), and trihexyphenidyl (Artane).
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: Jeuveau (prabotulinumtoxinA) works by quieting the nerve signals that fire those frown muscles between your brows. It does this by blocking the release of a messenger chemical called acetylcholine. Marjoram, in lab-dish studies, seems to nudge in the opposite direction by raising acetylcholine levels a bit (it blocks the enzyme that breaks that chemical down).
So in theory, concentrated marjoram supplements could slightly work against the muscle-relaxing effect of your treatment, perhaps making it fade a touch sooner. I want to be honest though: this is theoretical, based only on test-tube data, and everyday food amounts of marjoram in cooking are very unlikely to matter. If you take marjoram capsules or oils, just mention it to your injector or pharmacist first.
