ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Minocycline
Minocycline falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Marjoram interacts with.
Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's something worth a quick mention. Lab studies hint that concentrated marjoram may make blood platelets a little less sticky, which in theory could nudge up bleeding risk when paired with blood thinners. The thing is, minocycline isn't actually a blood thinner. It's an antibiotic from the tetracycline family, so this particular interaction was written for drugs like warfarin or aspirin, not really for minocycline itself.
So for the two of you together, I wouldn't expect a meaningful problem. The marjoram concern is also theoretical and based only on test-tube work, and food-amounts in cooking are very unlikely to matter. If you take other true blood thinners, or you're on high-dose marjoram supplements, just run it past your pharmacist or doctor to be safe.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Minocycline page
“This is one of the longer interaction lists I review, and with minocycline it earns real care rather than a shrug. Most entries pair this tetracycline antibiotic, taken for acne and other infections, with supplements that raise bleeding risk, and a second sizable group, beer and wine included, can add strain on the liver.”

About Marjoram
What is Marjoram?
- Digestive upset
- Sleep and relaxation
- Respiratory complaints (cough, congestion)
- Menstrual discomfort
- Aromatherapy for stress
Marjoram is a Mediterranean kitchen herb related to oregano that is widely used in food and traditional medicine for digestive, sleep, and respiratory complaints. Most of its health claims rest on traditional use and small lab or animal studies rather than strong human trials. It is generally considered safe as a food, but concentrated supplements and essential oils should be used with caution and avoided in pregnancy.
