Here's the gist with Diabismul (bismuth, calcium carbonate, and opium for diarrhea). Marshmallow root is loaded with mucilage, a slippery gel-forming fiber. The theory is that this gel can coat your stomach and gut and slightly slow or reduce how well an oral medicine taken at the same moment gets absorbed. If that happened here, you might get a bit less of the anti-diarrheal and cramp-soothing benefit you're counting on.

Honestly, this is a theoretical, minor concern based on how mucilage behaves, not on real cases of it failing. An easy fix is simple spacing: take your Diabismul first, then wait about 30 to 60 minutes before the marshmallow. If you have questions, your pharmacist or doctor can confirm what's best for you.
