Estradiol falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group Marshmallow interacts with.

Here's the thing with marshmallow root and oral estradiol (like Estrace tablets you swallow): marshmallow is full of mucilage, a slippery fiber gel. In theory, that gel could coat your stomach and gut and slightly slow down how much estradiol your body absorbs. If less gets in, your estrogen support could feel a touch weaker, meaning hot flashes, vaginal dryness, or other menopause symptoms might not be as well controlled.

I want to be honest though, this is a theoretical concern based on how mucilage behaves, not something proven in studies, and it's rated minor. An easy fix is spacing them out: take your estradiol first, then wait 30 to 60 minutes before the marshmallow. If you use a vaginal cream, ring, or insert instead of a pill, this likely doesn't apply. Always run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
