Here's the honest picture: this concern is mostly theoretical. Marshmallow root is loaded with a slippery fiber called mucilage, and the worry is that this gel could coat your stomach and slow down how well an oral medicine gets absorbed. If that happened, you might end up with a little less drug in your system than intended.

For mechlorethamine, this is rarely a real-world issue, since it is most often given as an injection by your cancer team or as a topical gel for skin lymphoma, not as something you swallow. There's no solid evidence here, just pharmacology theory. Still, because this is a serious cancer treatment where dosing matters, please run any supplement, including marshmallow, past your oncologist or pharmacist first.
