Why this applies to Iloprost

Iloprost falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group N-methyltyramine interacts with.

In animal research, N-methyltyramine increased blood pressure. This has not been shown in humans. Theoretically, concomitant use of N-methyltyramine and antihypertensive drugs might reduce the effects of antihypertensive drugs.
Some antihypertensive drugs include captopril (Capoten), enalapril (Vasotec), losartan (Cozaar), valsartan (Diovan), diltiazem (Cardizem), Amlodipine (Norvasc), hydrochlorothiazide (HydroDiuril), furosemide (Lasix), and many others.

Here's the basic idea with iloprost (Ventavis). This inhaled medicine works by relaxing and widening your blood vessels, including the ones in your lungs, to ease the strain of pulmonary arterial hypertension. N-methyltyramine may do the opposite by gently stimulating your "fight or flight" system, which can nudge blood pressure and heart rate upward. In theory, that mild stimulant push could work against what iloprost is trying to do.

I'll be honest with you though, this concern comes only from animal studies, not from people, so it's mostly theoretical. Still, since stimulant-type ingredients in weight-loss and pre-workout products aren't ideal when you have lung-related high blood pressure, please run any such product by your pharmacist or doctor before starting it.

Specifically, it is used to reduce the risk of losing fingers or toes (digit amputation) after serious frostbite injury.
