Omega-6 Fatty Acids + Clemastine
Clemastine brand name: Tavist Allergy.
We found no known interaction between Omega-6 Fatty Acids and Clemastine in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Omega-6 Fatty Acids and Clemastine
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Clemastine and Omega-6 Fatty Acids in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Omega-6 Fatty Acids at all — not against Clemastine, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.
Omega-6 Fatty Acids safety at a glance
Pregnancy & breastfeeding ratings are from Natural Medicines (Therapeutic Research Center) — the full detail is in the Special populations card below. Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.
Omega-6 Fatty Acids in Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
When consumed as part of the diet in amounts between 5% and 10% of daily calories according to the Dietary Reference Intake (DRI) Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Range (AMDR).
When high amounts of omega-6 fatty acids are consumed in the diet. Population research suggests that the highest maternal intakes of omega-6 fatty acids (15.2-47.6 grams or 137-428 kcal daily) during pregnancy is associated with a 2.4-times greater odds of giving birth to an infant below the 10th percentile for birth weight when compared with the lowest maternal intakes (0.4-5.7 grams daily). In addition, population research in women with a history of atopy suggests that the highest blood levels of omega-6 fatty acids during the second trimester is associated with an increased odds of having a child develop atopic dermatitis by age 4-6 years when compared with the lowest intakes. There is insufficient reliable information available about supplemental omega-6 fatty acids; avoid using.

Questions About Omega-6 Fatty Acids or Clemastine
These are real questions from readers, answered by the pharmacists at HelloPharmacist — written by a person, not generated from a database. Each one covers Omega-6 Fatty Acids or Clemastine, not necessarily both, but if one is close to what you were about to ask it will usually go further than a database entry can:

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Clemastine page
“Clemastine (Tavist Allergy) is an older, sedating antihistamine that already dries the mouth, blurs vision, and slows the gut, and that is exactly why this list earns real caution rather than a quick skim. Thirty of the 72 supplements on file pile the same drying, sedating anticholinergic load on top, and two of the three major-rated e…”

About Omega-6 Fatty Acids
What is Omega-6 Fatty Acids?
- General nutrition and energy
- Skin conditions like eczema
- Inflammation support
- Heart and cholesterol health
- Nerve health (such as diabetic nerve discomfort)
Omega-6 fatty acids are essential fats your body needs but cannot make on its own, and most people get plenty from everyday foods like vegetable oils, nuts, and seeds. Supplements such as evening primrose or borage oil are sometimes used for skin or other concerns, but the evidence for added benefit is mixed, and balancing omega-6 with omega-3 fats matters more than taking more omega-6. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before adding a supplement.
Dietary fats from plant oils, seeds, nuts, and some animal sources · Vegetable oils (corn, soybean, sunflower, safflower), capsules, evening primrose oil, borage oil, and softgels
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Omega-6 Fatty Acids is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Omega-6 Fatty Acids record says about it on its own.
Omega-6 Fatty Acids: dosing
There is no single standardized dose of omega-6 fatty acids that works for everyone, and most people meet their needs through diet alone. Health organizations describe omega-6 as an essential nutrient but focus on overall fat balance rather than a specific supplement amount. For supplements like evening primrose oil or borage oil, the right amount depends on the specific product and the GLA content.
