Drug & supplement interaction

Ozone Therapy + Lamotrigine

Lamotrigine brand name: Lamictal.

No Known Interaction
The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between Ozone Therapy and Lamotrigine in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.

Ozone Therapy and Lamotrigine

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Lamotrigine and Ozone Therapy in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — research on Ozone Therapy alongside specific medications may be limited.

Worth understanding: our licensed dataset holds no drug-interaction record for Ozone Therapy at all — not against Lamotrigine, and not against any other medication we track. This verdict therefore rests on the absence of any recorded data, not on research that looked at this combination and found nothing. We cannot rule an interaction out.

Ozone Therapy is a treatment rather than something you take. Tell whoever provides it which medicines you use, and ask your prescriber whether it is appropriate for your health and treatment. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Ozone Therapy safety at a glance

Ozone Therapy overall Use caution Ozone is a toxic gas if inhaled, and most uses lack strong proof of benefit, so professional medical oversight is essential.
Pregnancy Avoid There is not enough safety data, so it is best avoided during pregnancy.
Breastfeeding Avoid There is not enough safety data, so it is best avoided while breastfeeding.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

No Interaction Found — But Data Suggests Ozone Therapy and Lamotrigine May Share Several of the Same Side Effects

This is not an interaction. Neither one changes how your body handles the other, and nothing here says they react together. What our sources do show is that each has separately been linked to the effects below — so having Ozone Therapy while taking the medicine can make those effects more likely to turn up, and harder to pin on one or the other if they do.

About Ozone Therapy

What is Ozone Therapy?

  • Wound and skin infections
  • Joint and back pain
  • Immune support
  • Dental and gum care
  • Chronic infections
  • General 'detox' and wellness claims

Ozone therapy uses a reactive form of oxygen for a wide range of unproven health claims, and it is not a dietary supplement or herb. High-quality evidence for most uses is limited, and breathing ozone is harmful to the lungs. If you are considering it, talk to a licensed doctor or pharmacist first, since safety and benefit are not well established.

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Ozone Therapy is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Ozone Therapy record says about it on its own.

Ozone Therapy: dosing

There is no standardized, proven dose for ozone therapy, and it varies widely between providers and methods. Concentrations, volumes, and treatment schedules are not well established by high-quality research.Because ozone is reactive and potentially harmful, you should never try to make or use it at home. If you are considering ozone therapy, only do so under the supervision of a licensed, experienced healthcare professional, and discuss it with your own doctor or pharmacist first to make sure it is appropriate and safe for you.

About Lamotrigine

What Is Lamotrigine Used For?

Brand name: Lamictal

Lamotrigine is used to treat several types of seizures in adults and children aged 2 and older — including partial-onset seizures, generalized tonic-clonic (grand mal) seizures, and seizures related to Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. In older teens and adults, it can also be used alone (monotherapy) after transitioning off another seizure medicine.

For adults with bipolar I disorder, lamotrigine is used as a maintenance treatment — meaning it helps delay the return of mood episodes like depression, mania, or mixed states. It is not approved to treat an active manic or mixed episode that's happening right now.
