Propionyl-l-carnitine + Caspofungin
Caspofungin brand name: Cancidas.
We found no known interaction between Propionyl-l-carnitine and Caspofungin in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
Propionyl-l-carnitine and Caspofungin
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Caspofungin and Propionyl-l-carnitine in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Caspofungin
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Caspofungin is filed under a single classification — antifungals. Propionyl-l-carnitine has documented interactions with 3 drug classes — the most serious being acenocoumarol (sintrom) (moderate), thyroid hormone (moderate) and warfarin (coumadin) (moderate) — and none of Caspofungin’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Caspofungin
This page covers Propionyl-l-carnitine only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Caspofungin page lists 3 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Brewer's Yeast (minor), Probiotics (minor) and Saccharomyces Boulardii (minor).
By severity: 3 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Caspofungin page
“Caspofungin (Cancidas) is an IV antifungal given in hospitals for serious infections like invasive candidiasis, and its supplement list is unusually calm. Only three ingredients have any interaction on file, all rated minor, and none of them threaten the drug itself.”

About Propionyl-l-carnitine
What is Propionyl-l-carnitine?
- Peripheral artery disease and leg pain
- Heart and circulation support
- Energy and exercise performance
- Erectile dysfunction
- Diabetic nerve pain
Propionyl-l-carnitine is a form of the amino acid derivative carnitine that the body uses to help turn fat into energy, and it is studied mostly for circulation problems like peripheral artery disease. Some evidence suggests it may help walking distance in people with poor leg circulation, but results are mixed and it is not a substitute for standard medical care. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have a medical condition or take other medicines.
Capsules, tablets, oral powder
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Propionyl-l-carnitine is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Propionyl-l-carnitine record says about it on its own.
Propionyl-l-carnitine: dosing
There is no single official dose of PLC for supplement use, and the right amount can depend on the condition being studied and the specific product. They can help you decide whether PLC is appropriate for you and what amount makes sense.Do not assume more is better. Higher doses raise the chance of side effects without guaranteeing more benefit.

About Caspofungin Injection
What Is Caspofungin Injection Used For?
Brand name: Cancidas
Caspofungin injection is used to treat several serious fungal infections in adults and children 3 months of age and older. These include candidemia (Candida fungus in the bloodstream), Candida infections inside the abdomen, esophageal candidiasis (Candida infection of the esophagus/swallowing tube), and invasive aspergillosis (a serious lung and tissue infection caused by Aspergillus fungus) in patients who have not responded to or cannot tolerate other antifungal treatments.
It is also used as empirical therapy — meaning it is started right away to protect patients who have a fever and very low white blood cell counts (a condition called febrile neutropenia) when a fungal infection is suspected but not yet confirmed. It is not approved to treat oropharyngeal candidiasis (thrush in the mouth/throat) or as the first treatment tried for invasive aspergillosis, and it has not been studied for Candida infections of the heart valves, bones, or brain.
