Here's the thing to understand about glucose itself: it's literally the sugar we're trying to raise. When someone takes oral or IV glucose, it's usually to treat or prevent low blood sugar, like during a hypoglycemic episode. Salacia works in the opposite direction, gently slowing how fast carbohydrates turn into sugar in your gut to blunt blood sugar spikes.

So if you're relying on a sugary drink, glucose tablets, or food to bring a low back up, Salacia could in theory work against you and make that correction slower. This concern is theoretical, based on how Salacia behaves rather than strong studies. Note that emergency IV glucose bypasses the gut entirely, so Salacia wouldn't affect it. Still, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
