Here's the simple version: esmolol (Brevibloc) is a fast-acting beta blocker given through an IV in hospital settings, usually to slow a racing heart or lower blood pressure during procedures or emergencies. Sea buckthorn, especially in concentrated supplement form, may nudge blood pressure down a little on its own. Stack that gentle effect on top of esmolol and, in theory, your blood pressure could dip lower than intended.

I want to be honest about the strength of this: it's theoretical, based on how these things work rather than real cases. Since esmolol is given by clinicians who closely monitor your heart rate and blood pressure, they can catch and adjust for any low readings (like dizziness, lightheadedness, or a slow pulse). Food amounts of sea buckthorn berries are unlikely to matter. Still, always tell your care team about any supplements you take.
