ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Indapamide
Indapamide falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Sea Buckthorn interacts with.
Taking sea buckthorn appears to reduce blood pressure in some patients.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: indapamide is a water pill that lowers your blood pressure by helping your body shed extra salt and fluid. Some early research hints that sea buckthorn may also nudge blood pressure down a bit. Stack the two together and, in theory, your pressure could dip lower than intended.
If that happens, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, tired, or a little shaky when you stand up quickly. I want to be honest, though: this concern is theoretical, based on how these things behave rather than on solid studies. Eating sea buckthorn berries in food amounts is unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated supplements are the bigger question mark, so check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting one.

About Sea Buckthorn
What is Sea Buckthorn?
- Skin health and dryness
- Dry eye symptoms
- Digestive complaints
- Heart and cholesterol support
- General antioxidant and immune support
Sea buckthorn is a berry-bearing shrub rich in vitamins, carotenoids, and fatty acids that people use for skin, eye, digestive, and heart health. Early research is promising for a few uses like dry skin and dry eye, but most claims are not yet proven. It is generally well tolerated as a food, but talk to your pharmacist before using concentrated supplements.
About Indapamide
What Is Indapamide Used For?
Brand names: Lozol, Lozide
Indapamide tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), either on their own or together with other blood pressure medications. Lowering blood pressure helps reduce the risk of related complications.
Indapamide tablets are also used to treat salt and fluid retention (edema) associated with congestive heart failure. In certain cases, indapamide may also be appropriate during pregnancy when swelling is caused by a medical condition rather than normal pregnancy changes — but routine use in otherwise healthy pregnant women is not recommended.
