Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
TETRACYCLINE ANTIBIOTICS
Why this applies to Demeclocycline
Demeclocycline falls under TETRACYCLINE ANTIBIOTICS — the group Star Of Bethlehem interacts with.
Star of Bethlehem contains cardiac glycosides similar to digitalis. Tetracycline antibiotics appear to increase the gastrointestinal absorption of oral digoxin. Theoretically, concomitant use of tetracycline antibiotics might increase the absorption of the cardiac glycosides found in star of Bethlehem and increase the risk of adverse effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the unusual twist with this pairing. The concern isn't really about your antibiotic, demeclocycline, being affected. Instead, it works the other way around. Star of Bethlehem naturally contains cardiac glycosides, which are heart-acting compounds similar to digoxin. Antibiotics in the tetracycline family, like demeclocycline, can nudge up how much of these glycosides your gut absorbs. In theory, that could raise your risk of glycoside-related side effects, such as nausea, an upset stomach, dizziness, or an irregular heartbeat.
I want to be honest: this is a theoretical worry based on how the chemicals behave, not on real-world reports. Most flower-essence products are so diluted they contain almost no plant chemicals. Still, if you're using a more concentrated form, check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

About Star Of Bethlehem
What is Star Of Bethlehem?
- Emotional shock and trauma
- Grief and bereavement
- Stress relief
- Calming and comfort
Star of Bethlehem is a small flowering plant best known as one of the ingredients in Bach flower remedies, where it is used for emotional shock and grief. There is no solid scientific evidence that it treats any medical condition, and the raw plant and bulb are considered toxic, so it should not be eaten. If you choose to use a flower-essence product, treat it as a complement to—not a replacement for—proper medical care.
About Demeclocycline

Demeclocycline Hydrochloride tablets are used to treat bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. These include Rocky Mountain spotted fever, typhus, Q fever, tick fevers, respiratory tract infections (including those caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae), cholera, plague, tularemia, brucellosis, relapsing fever, chancroid, and sexually transmitted infections such as lymphogranuloma venereum, nongonococcal urethritis, and gonorrhea (when penicillin cannot be used).
It is also used for certain skin and skin structure infections, bartonellosis, granuloma inguinale, actinomycosis, listeriosis, anthrax (when penicillin is contraindicated), and as an adjunct in acute intestinal amebiasis. In severe acne, it may be used as part of combination therapy. It should only be used for infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by bacteria that respond to it.
