In vitro research suggests that summer savory extract inhibits platelet aggregation and adhesion. Theoretically, summer savory might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs. Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Cilostazol (Pletal) already works by making your platelets less sticky so blood flows more easily through narrowed leg arteries. Here's the thing about summer savory: in lab dish studies, its plant compounds also seemed to slow platelets from clumping together. Stack that on top of cilostazol and, in theory, you could nudge your bleeding risk up a little. Think easier bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding gums.

I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. This is based only on test-tube research, not real people, and a sprinkle of savory on your dinner is very unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated extracts or the essential oil are the bigger question mark. Before using any savory supplement with cilostazol, check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
