Iloprost falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Summer Savory interacts with.

In vitro research suggests that summer savory extract inhibits platelet aggregation and adhesion. Theoretically, summer savory might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs. Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Here's the thing about iloprost (Ventavis): besides opening up the blood vessels in your lungs, it also makes your platelets a little less sticky, which is a normal part of how it works. Summer savory may do something similar. In lab dish studies, compounds in this herb appeared to keep platelets from clumping together. Stack that mild blood-thinning effect on top of iloprost's, and in theory you could bruise or bleed a bit more easily.

I want to keep this in perspective. This is theoretical, based only on test-tube research, not real patients. Sprinkling summer savory on your food is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated extracts or the essential oil are where I'd be more cautious. Before adding any savory supplement, run it by your doctor or pharmacist first.
