Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Bimekizumab-bkzx
Bimekizumab-bkzx falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Syrian Rue interacts with.
Cases of hepatotoxicity and hepatic failure have been reported in patients who ingested a large quantity (up to 100 grams) of Syrian rue seeds.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version for Bimzelx (bimekizumab). This is an injectable antibody used for conditions like plaque psoriasis and certain kinds of arthritis. It isn't broken down by liver enzymes the way many pills are, so Syrian Rue won't speed it up or slow it down. The concern here is a different one: both can be tough on the liver. Bimekizumab can occasionally raise liver enzymes, and large amounts of Syrian Rue seeds have been linked to liver injury.
This is a theoretical concern based on how these things behave, not proven cases with this drug. Still, doubling up on things that stress the liver isn't wise. Watch for yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, or unusual tiredness, and check with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Bimekizumab-bkzx page
“Bimekizumab-bkzx (Bimzelx) works by deliberately quieting part of the immune system to control plaque psoriasis, and its own label flags liver enzyme elevations, so the 89 supplement and herbal entries on this page deserve a careful read rather than a shrug. About Syrian Rue
What is Syrian Rue?
- Traditional remedy for digestive complaints
- Used as a sedative or for mood
- Antimicrobial and antiparasitic folk use
- Used as a dye and incense
- Recreational psychoactive use
Syrian Rue (Peganum harmala) is a traditional plant whose seeds contain potent compounds called harmala alkaloids, including MAO-inhibiting harmine and harmaline. There is little reliable human evidence that it safely treats any condition, and it carries real risks of toxicity, so it is not recommended for self-treatment. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before considering it.
