Daridorexant falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Tarragon interacts with.

Evidence from animal research suggests that tarragon essential oil can cause sedation and motor impairment when administered intraperitoneally at a dose of 1 mL/kg. Theoretically, concomitant use of tarragon with CNS depressants, including antihistamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, and tricyclic antidepressants, may increase sedative and other adverse effects.

Daridorexant (Quviviq) is a sleep medication that works by quieting the brain's wake signals, so its whole job is to make you drowsy. The concern here is simple overlap: tarragon's essential oil showed sedative effects in animal studies, so layering it on top of a drug already designed to calm the brain could, in theory, deepen the sleepiness. You might feel groggier, more dizzy, or have a harder time waking up clearly the next morning.

That said, keep this in perspective. This warning comes from animal research using concentrated tarragon oil, not from people taking it with sleep aids. Tarragon sprinkled in your cooking is very unlikely to cause any problem. Concentrated tarragon supplements or essential oil are the real question. Before combining them with Daridorexant, check with your pharmacist or doctor.
