Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's something worth knowing about this pairing. Dasiglucagon (Zegalogue) is your rescue medicine for a severe low blood sugar emergency, working in the opposite direction of most diabetes drugs by telling your liver to dump stored sugar into your blood. Terminalia chebula (haritaki), on the other hand, has been suggested in animal studies only to gently lower blood sugar.

So this is more of a theoretical concern than something proven in people. The thought is that if haritaki nudges your sugar down on a daily basis, you could be a bit more prone to lows that might one day need a rescue like dasiglucagon. It does not stop your Zegalogue from working in an emergency. Still, mention any supplement use to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on your overall blood sugar control.
