Here's the simple version. Pemoline (Cylert) is a stimulant that gently nudges up your heart rate and blood pressure. Tyramine, the natural compound in aged cheese, cured meats, and fermented foods, can also push blood pressure up by triggering the release of norepinephrine. So in theory, stacking the two could add together and put a little extra strain on your heart, possibly more racing heartbeat, jitteriness, or a blood pressure bump.

I want to be honest with you though: this concern is theoretical, based on how these two work rather than real reports of harm. The rating on file is minor. Normal food amounts of tyramine are unlikely to be a problem for most people on Pemoline. Pemoline isn't a prodrug, so this isn't about activation. If you have heart concerns or high blood pressure, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor.
