Norgestrel falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Vitamin E interacts with.

Theoretically, vitamin E might induce metabolism of CYP3A4, possibly reducing the levels CYP3A4 substrates.
Vitamin E appears to bind with the nuclear receptor, pregnane X receptor (PXR), which results in increased expression of CYP3A4. Although the clinical significance of this is not known, use caution when considering concomitant use of vitamin E and other drugs affected by these enzymes.

Here's the gist for your norgestrel pill (a progestin-only birth control). Your body clears this hormone partly through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In theory, high-dose vitamin E may nudge that enzyme to work a little faster, which could lower the amount of progestin circulating in your blood. If levels dropped enough, the worry would be slightly weaker pregnancy protection or some breakthrough spotting.

I want to be honest about the strength here: this is a theoretical concern based on how the chemistry might behave, not something proven in real patients. Normal food and a standard multivitamin amount of vitamin E almost certainly won't matter. If you're taking concentrated high-dose vitamin E, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Progestin-Only (norethindrone) Oral Contraceptives Used For?

Brand names: Ovrette, Orval 21

Norethindrone progestin-only pills — sometimes called the "mini-pill" — are used solely to prevent pregnancy. They do not contain estrogen, which makes them an option for women who cannot or prefer not to use estrogen-containing contraceptives.

When taken perfectly (same time every day, no missed pills), fewer than 1 in 100 women will become pregnant in the first year. With typical use, that number rises to about 9 in 100 — mostly because of late or skipped pills. Consistency is everything with this method.
