Temazepam falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Vitamin E interacts with.

Theoretically, vitamin E might induce metabolism of CYP3A4, possibly reducing the levels CYP3A4 substrates.
Vitamin E appears to bind with the nuclear receptor, pregnane X receptor (PXR), which results in increased expression of CYP3A4. Although the clinical significance of this is not known, use caution when considering concomitant use of vitamin E and other drugs affected by these enzymes.

Here's the gist for temazepam (Restoril). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help break this sleep aid down. In lab studies, high-dose vitamin E may nudge that enzyme to work a little faster. If that happened in real life, your body could clear temazepam a bit quicker, which might make it slightly less effective, so you could notice it doesn't help you fall or stay asleep as well.

Now, the honest part: this is theoretical, based on how things behave in the lab, not on real patients taking both together. Everyday food amounts of vitamin E are very unlikely to matter. If you take high-dose vitamin E supplements and rely on temazepam for sleep, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on things.

Temazepam capsules — sold as Restoril and under the generic name Temazepam — are indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia, generally 7 to 10 days. They help people fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.
