Estazolam falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Zizyphus interacts with.

Theoretically, zizyphus might cause additive sedative effects when taken with CNS depressants.
Some animal research has found that various parts of zizyphus have sedative effects. However, other animal research shows that zizyphus plant extract does not alter sleep parameters when used in combination with pentobarbital.

Here's the simple version: estazolam already calms your brain to help you fall asleep, and zizyphus (jujube) has traditionally been used as a calming, sleep-promoting remedy too. Put them together and they may add up, so in theory you could feel extra drowsy, groggy, dizzy, or unsteady the next morning. That matters most for things like getting up at night or driving before you're fully awake.

I want to be honest about the strength of this one: it's theoretical, based mostly on animal studies, and even those don't fully agree. Eating jujube fruit as food is unlikely to be a problem. A concentrated supplement is where I'd be more cautious. Before you pair them, check with your pharmacist or doctor.

What Is Estazolam Used For?

Estazolam tablets are used for the short-term management of insomnia — specifically trouble falling asleep, waking up frequently during the night, and waking too early in the morning.

Because insomnia is often temporary, long-term use of estazolam is generally not recommended. If sleep problems last beyond 7–10 days of treatment, a doctor should evaluate whether an underlying medical or psychiatric condition is causing them.
