HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Acai Berry 500 mg by Earth Wise Vitamins & Supplements
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains a single active ingredient: acai 4:1 fruit extract at 500 mg per capsule. The "4:1" means the extract is concentrated—four pounds of acai fruit are processed down to one pound of extract.
The capsule itself and the inactive ingredients (rice flour, magnesium stearate, and silica) are fillers and binders that help hold the supplement together.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence for acai isn't established for the uses listed in our data. We rate it as having insufficient reliable evidence for aging skin, athletic performance, erectile dysfunction, and high cholesterol.
That doesn't mean it doesn't work—it means the research we've reviewed hasn't backed it up yet for those claims.
How safe is it?
Some data gaps
Acai is generally well tolerated when eaten as a food, but we don't have solid data on how safe concentrated supplements are, especially at high doses. There isn't enough safety information on acai supplements during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so caution is advised if you're pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing.
If either applies to you, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take any medication to control blood sugar—insulin, metformin, sulfonylureas, or any other antidiabetes drug—double-check with your pharmacist before adding this acai supplement. It may raise or lower your blood glucose, which could change how your medication works.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and some safety-information gaps remain.
Acai Berry 500 mg is mostly a low-risk product—the main thing to watch is if you take diabetes medications. If you do, check with your pharmacist first.
If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning either, ask before you start. Otherwise, side effects aren't well documented in our data.
