Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
This formula contains two active ingredients: slippery elm and bloodroot, plus hypromellose as a capsule material. Slippery elm inner bark is traditionally used to soothe the digestive tract, while bloodroot has historically been used in oral care products for dental plaque and gum health.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for what this formula actually does is limited. For slippery elm, we don't have enough reliable data to rate its effectiveness for cancer, constipation, cough, digestive inflammation, or diarrhea.
Bloodroot shows possibly effective evidence for dental plaque and gingivitis when used in appropriate doses, but we lack reliable evidence for its use in irritable bowel syndrome or periodontitis. If you're considering this product for a specific health concern, it's worth talking through the evidence—or lack of it—with your doctor or pharmacist.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Slippery elm is generally well tolerated for short-term use, but high-quality safety data are limited, and the safety data in pregnancy are not reliable enough to recommend it. There's too little information on safety while breastfeeding.
Bloodroot carries more caution: it's potentially toxic and corrosive, and we do not recommend it for self-treatment. Orally, bloodroot at appropriate short-term doses is generally well tolerated, but higher doses or long-term use can cause nausea, vomiting, central nervous system depression, dangerously low blood pressure, and other serious effects.
Both ingredients can cause allergic reactions; slippery elm pollen is a known allergen, and bloodroot carries a risk of contact dermatitis and skin reactions.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Check any oral medications you take before adding this product—slippery elm may slow their absorption and reduce how well they work. The ingredient list also includes bloodroot, which has no documented drug interactions in our data, but carries serious safety concerns on its own.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This product may not be right for you if you take oral medications regularly, since slippery elm can interfere with how your body absorbs them. Bloodroot's safety profile—especially at higher doses or with long-term use—also warrants caution.
Before starting this formula, talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's appropriate for your situation and any medications or health conditions you have.

Apoptosis Easy Digest Formula by TumoRx Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
TumoRx Apoptosis Easy Digest Formula interacts with medications through its slippery elm content.
Slippery elm may slow how your body absorbs oral drugs and lower the levels in your bloodstream — a moderate concern that could affect how many common medications work. We have no interaction data on the proprietary blend's other components, and bloodroot has no documented drug interactions in our data.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Because slippery elm's mucilage can coat the digestive tract and interfere with drug absorption, you'll want to separate this supplement from your oral medications by at least 2 hours — take your drugs first, then the supplement later, or vice versa. Altogether, these interactions span 2,023 individual medications.
If you take any regular oral medication, use the interaction checker below to search your exact drug names before you start.
