Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Partial disclosure
This powder contains 8 active ingredients. Avocado oil and coconut oil are plant oils; safflower oil is a seed oil.
Agmatine is a naturally occurring compound. You'll also find three peptide compounds (Glycyl-Alanyl-Lysine combined with leucine, isoleucine, and valine) and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), a type of fatty acid.
The rest of the powder is made up of inactive ingredients—thickeners, sweeteners (sucralose and acesulfame-K), flavoring, and colorant—that give it its sweet lemon taste and texture.
Does it work?
Not established
The facts we hold don't establish that any of these ingredients effectively treat or prevent a specific condition. Avocado oil is rated Possibly Effective for high cholesterol, but the other ingredients in this product are rated Insufficient Reliable Evidence for their proposed uses—meaning the research simply isn't strong enough yet to say whether they work.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Avocado oil and coconut oil are generally well tolerated when eaten as foods; avocado is widely consumed safely. However, concentrated supplements or extracts in pregnancy haven't been well studied for either.
Coconut can rarely cause allergic reactions ranging from hives to anaphylaxis in people with a coconut hypersensitivity. Agmatine appears well tolerated short-term but can cause diarrhea, indigestion, and nausea in some people—these side effects appeared within a few days and resolved when stopped.
Long-term safety in humans hasn't been well studied. Safflower oil is generally tolerated in food amounts, but there are rare case reports linking high-dose supplements to liver failure, though the exact dose or duration that caused harm isn't clear.
Safflower should be avoided in medicinal amounts during pregnancy, as it may stimulate the uterus.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you start, double-check if you take blood thinners like warfarin or other anticoagulants (Moderate risk); blood pressure medications (Moderate risk from agmatine); diabetes or blood sugar medications (Moderate risk from agmatine and safflower oil, Minor from coconut oil). High-dose safflower oil in particular may increase bleeding risk with blood thinners.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glancePartially disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you're on blood thinners, blood pressure medications, or diabetes medications, talk to your pharmacist or doctor before taking this product—the ingredient interactions could affect how those drugs work. Avocado oil and coconut oil are safe enough as foods, but agmatine is only short-term tested, and safflower oil at high doses has some rare safety concerns.

Best BCAA Sweet Lemon Tea by BPI Sports Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Best BCAA Sweet Lemon Tea by BPI Sports contains several ingredients with documented interactions with medications.
The most serious concern is safflower oil, which carries Moderate-severity interactions with blood thinners (anticoagulants and antiplatelet drugs) and warfarin—high doses may increase bleeding risk. Safflower oil also interacts with blood sugar medications (antidiabetes drugs) and may alter their effects; one study showed it can raise fasting blood glucose in people with type 2 diabetes.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Avocado oil has a Moderate interaction with warfarin, potentially reducing its blood-thinning effect, though this is based on a single case report. Agmatine carries Moderate interactions with blood pressure medications (antihypertensive drugs)—it may theoretically lower blood pressure further—and with diabetes medications, raising the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
Coconut oil has a Minor interaction with antidiabetes drugs; animal research suggests it might increase insulin and lower blood glucose.
We could not check three other ingredients in this product: Conjugated Linoleic Acid, Glycyl-Alanyl-Lysine-L-Leucine, Glycyl-Alanyl-Lysine-L-Isoleucine, and Glycyl-Alanyl-Lysine-L-Valine. Altogether, these interactions span 372 individual medications.
If you take any blood thinners, blood pressure or diabetes medications, please check your exact drugs with the tool below before starting this product.

For each ingredient in Best BCAA Sweet Lemon Tea with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Agmatine
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, agmatine might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Animal and in vitro research suggest that agmatine has mild hypoglycemic effects.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, agmatine might increase the risk of hypotension when taken with antihypertensive drugs.
Animal research suggests that agmatine can modestly decrease heart rate and blood pressure.
Safflower oil
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
High doses of safflower oil might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Small clinical studies show that taking safflower oil, approximately 55 grams daily for 2-3 weeks, decreases platelet aggregation. However, taking lower doses of safflower oil, such as 5 grams daily for 4 weeks, does not seem to affect platelet function. In one case report, a 74-year-old male stabilized on warfarin developed urinary tract bleeding and an elevated INR after taking a safflower extract 20 grams daily for 14 days.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, safflower oil might alter the effects of antidiabetes drugs.
Some clinical research shows that taking safflower oil 10 grams daily for 3 weeks can increase fasting blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes. However, clinical research in patients with metabolic syndrome with or without impaired glucose tolerance shows that taking safflower oil 8 grams daily for 12 weeks reduces fasting glucose levels by around 8 mg/dL. Some clinical research also shows that taking safflower oil 8 grams daily for 16 weeks does not affect fasting glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes.
Warfarin
Theoretically, safflower oil might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with warfarin.
In one case report, a 74-year-old male stabilized on warfarin developed urinary tract bleeding and an elevated INR after taking a safflower extract 20 grams daily for 14 days.
Coconut Oil
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking coconut with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Animal research suggests that coconut milk might increase insulin levels and/or decrease blood glucose levels.
Avocado Oil
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Avocado may antagonize the anticoagulant effects of warfarin.
Avocado may antagonize the anticoagulant effects of warfarin; however, there has been only one case report of this interaction.
