Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product has one active ingredient: biotin, a B vitamin your body needs to process fats and carbohydrates and to keep hair, skin, and nails healthy. The rest is inactive ingredients — microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, carnauba wax, and silicon dioxide — which help form and stabilize the capsule.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Biotin is likely effective for biotin deficiency, which can cause hair loss and skin problems. For other uses — multiple sclerosis, seborrheic dermatitis (a flaky, itchy scalp condition), or alopecia areata (patchy hair loss) — the evidence we have is either insufficient to rate it or suggests it may not work.
Talk with your doctor about whether biotin is right for what you're trying to treat.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Biotin is generally well tolerated, even at fairly high doses, because your body clears what it doesn't need through urine. High-dose biotin has rarely caused mild diarrhea in a small number of people.
One isolated case report linked very high-dose biotin (10 mg daily) to a chest inflammation, though it's unclear whether biotin was the cause. Before you take high-dose biotin supplements, check with your doctor — regular dietary amounts and prenatal vitamin doses are considered appropriate.

The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. No medication interactions are currently documented, and safety information is well characterized.
If you have biotin deficiency, this supplement is likely to help. If you're considering it for hair, skin, or an autoimmune condition, the evidence is weak or absent — discuss it with your doctor.
At normal doses, biotin is generally well tolerated; if you're thinking about high-dose products, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist first.
