Burdock Blend Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Burdock Blend against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. What’s inside
Low disclosure
Burdock Blend by Herb Pharm Professional is a 2-ingredient liquid herbal extract. The active ingredient is burdock extract, sourced from certified organic material.
It's blended with certified organic cane alcohol and distilled water to create the liquid form.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence we hold doesn't establish that burdock works for any of the conditions listed — acne, aging skin, breast cancer, common cold, or eczema. For all of these, the data we have shows insufficient reliable evidence to rate its effectiveness.
If you're considering this product for a specific health goal, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist to see whether the evidence supports it for your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Burdock is generally well tolerated when eaten as food and for short-term use in healthy adults, though human safety data are limited. Allergic reactions are rare but possible — they include contact dermatitis and, very rarely, anaphylaxis.
Skin reactions (contact dermatitis) have been reported, especially with prolonged use of burdock root oil or plasters, and can appear up to a week after first use. Don't use medicinal amounts of this product during pregnancy — safety data are lacking and burdock may affect the uterus.
Avoid it while breastfeeding as well, since there isn't enough safety information. One case of liver injury was reported in someone taking a liver detox tea containing burdock and other ingredients, though it's unclear whether burdock alone caused it.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs — such as warfarin, aspirin, or clopidogrel — double-check with your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. Burdock may theoretically increase bleeding risk with these medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Burdock Blend is a traditional herbal extract that's been used historically with a reasonable safety record in food amounts. If you take blood thinners or antiplatelet medications, check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding this to your routine — the theoretical increase in bleeding risk needs to be weighed for your specific situation.

Lab research shows that compounds in burdock can reduce how blood platelets clump together, though this interaction hasn't been reported in actual patients yet — it's a theoretical risk based on how the herb works.
