Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Hemp product and its label doesn't state a use — see Hemp's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

We don't have established evidence in our data for how well this product works. The hemp oil component has been studied for constipation, eczema, and high cholesterol, but the evidence is currently insufficient to rate its effectiveness for any of these uses.

There's no effectiveness data on file for the cannabidiol in this particular product either.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Hemp seed foods and oils are generally well tolerated in normal food amounts. However, the safety data we hold notes caution with concentrated extracts and supplements like this one — they're less well studied than whole food sources.

In larger amounts, hemp seed oil appears well tolerated, though rare cases of allergic reactions (including anaphylaxis, swelling, and breathing problems) and very rare heart rhythm issues have been reported. There's also a case report of elevated liver enzymes in a young child given a high-dose hemp extract.

Pregnancy and lactation safety data isn't on file for this product — talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's appropriate for you.

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Hemp.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 941 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before taking this product, double-check with your pharmacist if you take estrogen or hormone therapy (Moderate interaction risk), blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs, blood pressure medications, ACE inhibitors, or any medications metabolized by your liver's CYP1A2 or CYP3A4 enzymes — all Minor severity. We could not check cannabidiol for interactions.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

If you take hormone therapy, blood thinners, blood pressure medications, or drugs processed through your liver, check your exact medications with your pharmacist before starting this product. The evidence for what hemp oil and CBD actually do isn't established in our data.

Because concentrated supplements like this one are less studied than food amounts, and allergic reactions (though rare) have been reported, this isn't a routine choice — discuss it with your own doctor or pharmacist first.

Estrogens

Theoretically, hemp might interfere with hormone therapy due to its estrogenic effects.
In an ovariectomized animal model, a diet containing hemp seed 1%, 2%, or 10% resulted in normalized plasma levels of 17-beta-estradiol. The mechanism of action for this effect is unclear.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Ace Inhibitors (Aceis)

Theoretically, consuming hemp seed protein isolate with ACE inhibitors might have additive effects and increase the risk of hypotension.
Hemp seed protein hydrolysate has shown ACE inhibitor-like effects in a hypertensive animal model. However, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans. Until more is known, monitor blood pressure and potassium levels.

Likelihood Unlikely Evidence D
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs

Theoretically, hemp seed might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
In animal research, hemp seed at 5% of the diet inhibits platelet aggregation in vitro. However, in human research, taking hemp seed oil 2 grams daily for 12 weeks does not inhibit the aggregation of platelets in vitro.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Antihypertensive Drugs

Theoretically, hemp seed protein may have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
In a hypertensive animal model, hemp seed protein hydrolysate reduced systolic blood pressure by a mechanism possibly involving the inhibition of renin and angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) activities. However, there was no effect of hemp seed protein on blood pressure in normotensive animals. Furthermore, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans.

Likelihood Unlikely Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP1A2 enzymes.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP3A4 enzymes.

CBD Enriched Hemp Oil by Earth Science Tech: Common Questions

Does CBD Enriched Hemp Oil by Earth Science Tech interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, CBD Enriched Hemp Oil has a known interaction with 940 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
CBD Enriched Hemp Oil contains 2 active ingredients, and an interaction can come from any of them. We check every ingredient, combine the results into one list per medication, and show which ingredient and mechanism is responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
What's the difference between hemp oil and CBD?
Hemp oil comes from cannabis seeds and contains various fatty acids and plant compounds. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a specific non-intoxicating compound found in cannabis. This product contains both — the hemp oil plus an enriched amount of CBD.
Will this make me high?
Hemp oil from seeds doesn't contain significant amounts of THC, the compound that causes a high. CBD also doesn't produce a high. But we don't have specific THC content data for this product on file — you may want to contact the manufacturer if that's important to you.
Does hemp oil actually help with any health condition?
We've reviewed the evidence for hemp oil and constipation, eczema, and high cholesterol, but none of them have enough reliable evidence yet to say whether it works. The data for CBD's effectiveness isn't on file for us either.
Can I take this if I'm on blood pressure medication?
Hemp oil may theoretically have additive blood-pressure-lowering effects with your medication. Before starting this product, talk with your doctor or pharmacist about your specific drugs — they can assess whether it's safe for you to combine them.
I'm allergic to other plants — should I be worried?
Allergic reactions to hemp seed are uncommon, but they have been reported, including rare cases of anaphylaxis and swelling. If you have a history of food or plant allergies, mention this product to your pharmacist or doctor before taking it.
Are there any fillers or other ingredients I should know about?
This product has no inactive ingredients listed in the data we hold — it contains only the hemp oil and cannabidiol. The form is liquid.
