Complete Feminine Balance is a capsule containing 4 active ingredients: three Lactobacillus probiotic strains (crispatus, gasseri, and jensenii) plus an Intelliflora Blend. These are live microorganisms designed to support vaginal health.
The product also contains several inactive ingredients — microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, fructooligosaccharides, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide, and caramel — which serve as fillers, binders, and capsule materials.

The evidence for these ingredients is mixed. Lactobacillus crispatus is possibly effective for bacterial vaginosis, but the data on its use for HIV/AIDS, gum disease, urinary tract infections, and preterm labor is insufficient to rate.
Lactobacillus gasseri has insufficient evidence for allergic rhinitis, aspirin-related stomach damage, asthma, bacterial vaginosis, colds, and diarrhea. No effectiveness ratings are on file for Lactobacillus jensenii, and we have no data on the Intelliflora Blend or the fourth ingredient (Lactobacillus rhamnosus).
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
These Lactobacillus strains are generally well tolerated in healthy adults, though evidence is limited. In rare cases, L. crispatus has caused nausea, gas, flatulence, and swelling of the tongue — and because these are live organisms, there's a theoretical concern they could cause infection in some people (cases of bloodstream infection, abscess, and heart valve infection have been reported, though these are uncommon).
L. gasseri and L. jensenii carry similar rare risks. For pregnancy and breastfeeding, safety data is limited — check with your doctor before using if you're pregnant or nursing.

Lactobacillus crispatus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. crispatus preparations by at least two hours.
