Both Bifidobacterium species in this powder are generally well tolerated in healthy people, though those with weakened immune systems should be cautious. Bloating and flatulence can occur with probiotic use in general; one rare case of vomiting and fever was reported in a child taking a different probiotic combination, though it's unclear whether the probiotics caused it.

Very rarely, abdominal discomfort, constipation, or a dry cough has been noted. Serious infections from these bacteria are extremely rare and have occurred only in critically ill patients.
