Daily Detox Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Daily Detox against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Daily Detox by Terry Naturally
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Daily Detox contains six active ingredients formulated to support detoxification. These include Juniper, traditionally used to support urinary and kidney health; Rosemary, valued for memory support; Peppermint, used for digestive and respiratory comfort; Lemon, added for its antioxidant properties; Cypress, commonly used in herbal traditions for circulatory support; and Labrador Tea.
The product is delivered in a softgel capsule form with inactive ingredients of extra virgin olive oil, gelatin, glycerin, and water.
Does it work?
Insufficient evidence
Of these ingredients, Peppermint has the strongest evidence: it's rated Likely Effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and Possibly Effective for dyspepsia (indigestion), chemotherapy-related nausea, and other digestive concerns. Rosemary is rated Possibly Effective for memory support.
For the other claimed uses — Juniper for kidney stones, urinary tract infections, wound healing, and respiratory health; Cypress for circulation; and Lemon for allergies, anxiety, and kidney stones — the evidence on file is insufficient to establish effectiveness. No effectiveness data exists for Labrador Tea in our records.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Peppermint is rated Likely Safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding in normal amounts; concentrated oils and supplements require caution. Juniper should be avoided during pregnancy (traditionally thought to affect the uterus) and while breastfeeding due to insufficient safety data, and medicinal doses are not recommended for long-term use as they may irritate the kidneys.
Rosemary in food amounts is safe, but medicinal doses are best avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to limited data. Lemon as food is well tolerated; the data advises caution with medicinal doses and essential oils.
Cypress should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to insufficient safety information. The most common adverse effects from these ingredients include topical skin irritation and allergies (from Juniper and Rosemary), digestive upset (abdominal pain, heartburn, nausea, diarrhea from Peppermint), and heartburn or indigestion from Lemon.
Allergic reactions including anaphylaxis have been reported rarely with Peppermint.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking Daily Detox, double-check with your pharmacist if you take blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (Moderate risk from Cypress and Rosemary), diabetes medications (Moderate risk from Juniper and Peppermint), salicylate-containing pain relievers like aspirin or Trilisate (Moderate risk from Rosemary), or medications processed by CYP2C19, CYP2C9, or CYP3A4 liver enzymes including cyclosporine (Moderate risk from Peppermint). Also mention diuretics, lithium, or the antifungal itraconazole.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with insufficient evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you take blood thinners, diabetes medications, or any prescription drug that depends on liver enzymes to be processed, check with your pharmacist before starting Daily Detox — the ingredient list includes several that may interfere. Peppermint and Rosemary are the best-studied here, with some evidence for digestive and memory support respectively.
If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or have kidney or liver concerns, talk to your pharmacist or doctor first.

Daily Detox by Terry Naturally Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Daily Detox by Terry Naturally contains six ingredients, and together they interact with a substantial number of medications.
The most serious interaction involves Cypress, which contains compounds that may slow blood clotting; combined with blood thinners or antiplatelet drugs (like warfarin or clopidogrel), there's a Moderate risk of increased bleeding.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Rosemary also carries Moderate risks with blood thinners and antiplatelet medications, as well as with aspirin and similar salicylate-containing pain relievers. Juniper and Peppermint present Moderate interactions with diabetes medications — both may lower blood sugar further, raising the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
Peppermint additionally poses Moderate concerns with several drug-metabolizing enzymes (CYP2C19, CYP2C9, CYP3A4 substrates), meaning it could raise levels of medications that depend on these pathways, including the immunosuppressant cyclosporine. Rosemary and Peppermint also interact with CYP1A2 substrates (Minor), and Juniper with diuretics and lithium (Minor).
Lemon interacts with the antifungal itraconazole (Minor). We could not check Labrador Tea — no interaction data is on file for it.
Altogether, these interactions span 988 individual medications. Use the medication checker on this page to verify your specific prescriptions before starting this product.

Peppermint
Cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune)
Theoretically, peppermint oil might increase the levels and adverse effects of cyclosporine.
In animal research, peppermint oil inhibits cyclosporine metabolism and increases cyclosporine levels. Inhibition of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) may be partially responsible for this interaction. An interaction between peppermint oil and cyclosporine has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C19 (Cyp2C19) Substrates
Theoretically, peppermint might increase the levels of CYP2C19 substrates.
In vitro research shows that peppermint oil inhibits CYP2C19. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 2C9 (Cyp2C9) Substrates
Theoretically, peppermint might increase the levels of CYP2C9 substrates.
In vitro research shows that peppermint oil inhibits CYP2C9. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
Theoretically, peppermint might increase the levels of CYP3A4 substrates.
Clinical research in healthy volunteers shows that a single dose of peppermint oil 600 mg inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes and increases the AUC of felodipine, a CYP3A4 substrate. However, in vitro research suggests that peppermint oil only inhibits CYP3A4 at very high concentrations.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, peppermint might increase the levels of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro and animal research shows that peppermint oil and peppermint leaf inhibit CYP1A2. However, in clinical research, peppermint tea did not significantly affect the metabolism of caffeine, a CYP1A2 substrate. It is possible that the 6-day duration of treatment may have been too short to identify a difference.
Labrador Tea
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
In vitro research shows that aqueous and ethanolic extracts of Bog Labrador tea leaves can increase the concentration of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) enzymes. Extracts obtained from different geographical regions in Quebec resulted in differing potency of CYP3A4 induction. Bog Labrador tea might increase the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.
Drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), clarithromycin (Biaxin), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), diltiazem (Cardizem), estrogens, indinavir (Crixivan), amiodarone (Cordarone), ticagrelor (Brilinta), triazolam (Halcion), and others.
Rosemary
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
Theoretically, rosemary may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro and animal research suggests that rosemary inhibits platelet aggregation.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking rosemary with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Animal research shows that rosemary extract can decrease blood glucose levels in diabetic models. However, research in humans is conflicting. Although rosemary powder decreased blood glucose levels in healthy adults, no change in blood glucose levels was seen in adults with type 2 diabetes, most of whom were taking antidiabetes drugs.
Aspirin
Theoretically, rosemary might have additive effects with salicylate-containing drugs such as aspirin.
Rosemary is reported to contain salicylates.
Choline Magnesium Trisalicylate (Trilisate)
Theoretically, rosemary might have additive effects with salicylate-containing drugs such as choline magnesium trisalicylate.
Rosemary is reported to contain salicylate.
Salsalate (Disalcid)
Theoretically, rosemary might have additive effects with salicylate-containing drugs such as salsalate.
Rosemary is reported to contain salicylate.
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates
Theoretically, rosemary might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that rosemary induces CYP1A2 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Juniper
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking juniper berry with antidiabetes medications might cause additive hypoglycemia.
Animal research shows that juniper berry can lower blood glucose.
Diuretic Drugs
Theoretically, juniper berry might increase the risk of adverse effects from diuretic drugs.
Juniper berry is thought to have mild diuretic effects.
Lithium
Theoretically, juniper berry might reduce lithium excretion and increase serum levels of lithium.
Juniper berry is thought to have mild diuretic effects.
Cypress
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
In vitro evidence shows that cypress cone extract inhibits blood coagulation in a concentration-dependent manner. In one case report, prolonged bleeding time during surgery occurred in a 52-year-old female undergoing removal of a premalignant skin lesion. Based on preoperative questioning, the patient had no relevant history of systemic disease, drug use, or allergy. Upon postoperative questioning, the patient reported taking cypress cone extract for one year prior to surgery. Theoretically, taking cypress extract along with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding in some patients. Some anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs include aspirin; clopidogrel (Plavix); nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as diclofenac (Voltaren, Cataflam, others), ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others), and naproxen (Anaprox, Naprosyn, others); dalteparin (Fragmin); enoxaparin (Lovenox); heparin; warfarin (Coumadin); and others.
Lemon
Itraconazole (Sporanox)
Theoretically, taking itraconazole capsules or tablets with a beverage containing lemon might increase the levels and clinical effects of itraconazole.
In one case report, dissolving itraconazole tablets in a small amount of specific beverages containing lemon prior to administration increased the level of itraconazole in a lung transplant patient. In this case, the increased bioavailability was desirable and was likely due to improved tablet dissolution in the acidic beverage.
