Full

Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 6 of its 6 active ingredients.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product has six active ingredients, most of them enzymes designed to help break down food in your digestive tract. Invertase, hemicellulase, alpha-galactosidase, and cellulase all work to digest different components of what you eat — carbohydrates, fiber, and complex sugars that can cause gas and bloating.

The other active ingredient is BC30 Bacillus coagulans, a live probiotic (beneficial bacterial strain) meant to support gut health and digestion. The inactive ingredients are fillers and capsule materials — maltodextrin, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, titanium dioxide, carrageenan, potassium chloride, microcrystalline cellulose, dextrin, citric acid, silicon dioxide, and magnesium stearate — that help hold the capsule together and keep it stable.

Does it work?

Moderate evidence
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Moderate

Some clinical evidence supports this product's ingredients for its stated purpose, but it isn't conclusive.

Why this rating?
  • The label markets this product for: digestive health and gas reduction.
  • We looked for evidence on: Constipation, Diarrhea, Dyspepsia, Flatulence, Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), bloating — and 1 related terms.
  • The strongest evidence on file: Bacillus Coagulans is rated "Possibly Effective" for Constipation (Natural Medicines).
  • Also on file: Bacillus Coagulans is rated "Possibly Effective" for Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
  • Also on file: Bacillus Coagulans is rated "Insufficient Reliable Evidence To Rate" for Antibiotic-associated diarrhea, Diarrhea, Dyspepsia, Flatulence, and more.

The evidence shows BC30 Bacillus coagulans is possibly effective for constipation and for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). For other uses listed on this product — antibiotic-associated diarrhea, athletic performance, cancer, and fatty liver disease — the evidence isn't strong enough to rate it either way, according to the data we hold.

We have no effectiveness data on file for the four enzyme ingredients in this product, so we can't speak to how well they work for gas defense or digestion.

The evidence, ingredient by ingredient Bacillus Coagulans

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

BC30 Bacillus coagulans is generally well tolerated in healthy adults, but the evidence and quality of probiotic products vary quite a bit. There isn't enough reliable safety data on this ingredient to make broad claims; talk to your doctor before using if you have any health concerns.

One important caution: since this product contains live organisms, there is theoretical concern it could cause infection in people with weakened immune systems, central lines (catheters), or severe illness — including preterm infants. Reports of serious infection in these populations have been documented with other probiotics.

In relatively healthy people with intact immune systems and no catheters, such complications haven't been well established. Pregnancy and lactation safety data isn't on file for this ingredient — talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's right for you during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Bacillus Coagulans.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • For scale: 182 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before you take this product, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you use antibiotics. Taking them at the same time as this probiotic may reduce how well the probiotic works.

We could not check interactions for the four enzyme ingredients because we hold no data for them.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

If you have constipation or IBS, this product's probiotic may be worth trying — the evidence is modest but shows promise. The enzyme ingredients might help with gas and bloating, though we don't have strength-of-evidence data for them.

If you take antibiotics, space them apart from this product so the probiotic organisms stay alive. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, immunocompromised, or have a central line, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.

Antibiotic Drugs

Theoretically, taking antibiotics with Bacillus coagulans might decrease the effectiveness of B. coagulans.
B. coagulans preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and B. coagulans preparations by at least two hours.

The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Will this probiotic work if I'm on antibiotics?

We don't have pregnancy safety data on file for BC30 Bacillus coagulans. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist — they can help you weigh the potential benefits and risks for your situation.
Can it help with IBS?
The evidence suggests it may help — it's rated possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome. That's not a guarantee, but it's worth discussing with your doctor if you're looking for a probiotic option.
What does the probiotic actually do?
BC30 Bacillus coagulans is a live bacterial strain meant to support digestion and gut health. It may reduce constipation and help with IBS symptoms.
Is this product well tolerated?
In healthy adults, yes — BC30 is generally well tolerated. However, it's not recommended for people with weakened immune systems, central lines, or severe illness due to rare but serious infection risk. Talk with your doctor if you fall into those groups.
