What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: eucalyptus powder. It's a concentrated form of eucalyptus leaf, which people traditionally use by inhalation or diluted application.
There are no inactive ingredients listed.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The evidence we hold for eucalyptus doesn't establish clear effectiveness for any condition. The data shows insufficient reliable evidence for acne, asthma, bronchitis, burns, and cancer.
If you're considering this product for a specific health goal, talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist to see what the current evidence supports.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Eucalyptus powder is generally well tolerated in small amounts for inhalation or when diluted, but the undiluted oil can be toxic if swallowed—serious poisoning can occur at doses as low as 1 mL and cause shallow breathing, rapid heartbeat, seizures, coma, and death. If you take it by mouth, even in diluted form, you may experience nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
Topical use (on the skin) can cause burning, itching, redness, or stinging. Avoid taking the oil internally, and keep it away from children.
A small number of people have reported allergic reactions, including worsening asthma and rhinitis, or allergic skin reactions—especially those with occupational exposure to eucalyptus. Some cases of seizures have been associated with eucalyptus oil by mouth, skin, or inhalation, particularly in people with a history of seizures or susceptibility to them.
There isn't enough reliable safety data to know whether eucalyptus powder is safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so check with your doctor or pharmacist before using it during these times.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, check with your pharmacist or doctor if you take diabetes medications (risk of low blood sugar), any drugs processed by your liver (including blood pressure and cholesterol medications), amphetamines or other stimulants, or barbiturates like pentobarbital. Altogether, these interactions span 879 individual medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Eucalyptus leaf powder is generally well tolerated in small amounts, but the undiluted oil is hazardous if swallowed and carries risks of digestive upset, allergic reactions, and even seizures in some people. It may interact with a wide range of medications your liver processes, diabetes drugs, and certain sedatives and stimulants—so check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding it to your routine, especially if you take any prescription medications.

Eucalyptus Powder monograph & interactionsEucalyptus Leaf Powder by TerraVita Premium Collection Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
TerraVita Premium Collection Eucalyptus Leaf Powder interacts with a large number of medications through its eucalyptus content.
The most serious documented concern is a Moderate-severity risk: eucalyptus may theoretically reduce the effectiveness of amphetamines and pentobarbital (a barbiturate used for sedation), based on animal evidence that inhaling eucalyptol—eucalyptus's active compound—lowers blood levels of these drugs.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Eucalyptus also carries Moderate-severity theoretical risks with several classes of drugs that your liver metabolizes. It may inhibit four major liver enzymes (CYP1A2, CYP2C19, CYP2C9, and CYP3A4), which could raise levels of medications broken down by these pathways and potentially increase their effects.
Additionally, eucalyptus leaf may raise the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) if you're taking diabetes medications, since animal research suggests it has blood-sugar-lowering activity.
Although these interactions are based on lab and animal evidence rather than confirmed human studies, they span a substantial range of common medications. Run your exact drugs through the interaction checker below before starting this product—especially if you take any diabetes medications, blood pressure drugs, cholesterol medications, or other drugs processed by your liver.
