Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product is a single-ingredient powder: Tribulus terrestris extract. That's the whole formula — no added fillers or binders here.
Tribulus is a plant used traditionally to support sexual function and athletic performance.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
For sexual dysfunction, tribulus is rated possibly effective based on available evidence. For athletic performance, the evidence suggests it's possibly ineffective.
For benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH, or enlarged prostate), there isn't enough reliable evidence in the data we hold to rate it either way.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Tribulus is generally well tolerated short-term in healthy adults, but quality data and long-term safety information are limited. Serious side effects are rare, but cases of liver and kidney injury, seizures, and prolonged painful erection have been reported.
Most people experience mild or no side effects, though some trial participants reported stomach cramping, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation — though in one study these complaints occurred at similar rates in both tribulus and placebo groups. One case involved very high intake (two liters of tribulus water daily) and resulted in seizures, kidney injury, and liver inflammation requiring hospitalization.
The safety data advises against using tribulus during pregnancy because it may affect hormones and safety is not established. It's also not recommended while breastfeeding due to lack of reliable safety information.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take this product, check your medications against these drug types: antihypertensive drugs (blood pressure medications, Moderate severity), antidiabetes drugs (Moderate severity), and lithium (Moderate severity). Use the search tool below with your exact medication names.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Tribulus may be worth considering if you're interested in its possible effects on sexual function — but it's not for everyone. If you take blood pressure medication, diabetes drugs, or lithium, you need to talk with your pharmacist or doctor before starting.
And it's off-limits during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Herbadiet's Extra Pure Tribulus Terrestris Extract does interact with several medication types, and the most serious concern involves blood pressure drugs.
Tribulus can lower your blood pressure further, which might push it too low — a Moderate severity interaction. If you take antihypertensive drugs (blood pressure medications), you'll want to flag this with your pharmacist or doctor before starting.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
You'll also want to check if you're on diabetes medications or lithium. Tribulus may lower blood sugar levels, raising the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) — a Moderate concern when combined with antidiabetes drugs.
With lithium, tribulus's diuretic (water-shedding) properties might slow how your body clears it, potentially increasing lithium levels in your system — also Moderate severity, and your lithium dose might need adjustment.
Altogether, these interactions span 256 individual medications. Use the medication checker on this page to run through your exact prescriptions before you start.
