FLORASSIST Mood Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking FLORASSIST Mood against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
FLORASSIST Mood contains two active probiotic strains: Lactobacillus helveticus Rosell-52 ME and Bifidobacterium longum Rosell-175 ME. These are live, beneficial bacteria intended to support gut health.
The capsules also contain inactive ingredients—potato starch, vegetable cellulose, maltodextrin, and silica—which serve as fillers and binders.
Does it work?
Not established
The evidence supporting these probiotics for mood, cognition, anxiety, and related concerns is currently insufficient to establish whether they work. The ingredients have been studied for depression, cognitive function, generalized anxiety disorder, and other conditions, but we don't hold enough reliable data to rate their effectiveness for any of these uses.
If you're considering this product for a specific health goal, talk with your doctor about whether the current evidence makes sense for your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Both Lactobacillus helveticus and Bifidobacterium longum are generally well tolerated in healthy people. However, the data are limited, so if you're seriously ill, immunocompromised, or taking immunosuppressant medications, talk with your doctor before starting.
Rare adverse effects have included abdominal discomfort, flatulence, and constipation with Bifidobacterium longum. Because these are live microorganisms, there is a theoretical concern about infection in vulnerable patients, though such cases are rare.
For Bifidobacterium longum in pregnancy and lactation, the safety rating is "possibly safe"—meaning some data exist but aren't conclusive. For Lactobacillus helveticus, pregnancy and lactation safety data aren't on file.
Either way, if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, check with your doctor or pharmacist before use.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking FLORASSIST Mood, double-check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on antibiotic drugs. The live bacteria in this product can be killed by antibiotics if taken at the same time, reducing the probiotic's effectiveness.
Separating the doses by a few hours will solve the problem. No other drug interactions are documented for the ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
FLORASSIST Mood is a two-strain probiotic supplement intended to support mood and gut health, though the evidence for mood benefits isn't yet established in our data. If you're taking antibiotics, you'll need to space out the doses to avoid reducing the probiotic's viability.
If you're healthy and not on antibiotics or immunosuppressants, it's generally well tolerated, but talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting—especially if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a weakened immune system.

FLORASSIST Mood by Life Extension Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
FLORASSIST Mood by Life Extension contains two active probiotic ingredients—Lactobacillus helveticus and Bifidobacterium longum—both of which interact with antibiotic drugs.
Because these are live microorganisms, taking them at the same time as antibiotics can reduce how well the probiotics work; the antibiotics may kill off a significant portion of the beneficial bacteria before they establish themselves. The interaction is Moderate in severity for both ingredients.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
If you're taking an antibiotic, the fix is straightforward: separate the timing. Take your antibiotic as prescribed, and space out this supplement by a few hours (your doctor or pharmacist can recommend the best interval for your specific antibiotic).
This preserves both the antibiotic's effectiveness and the probiotic's. Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
Beyond antibiotics, no other drug interactions are documented in our data for the ingredients we could check. That said, the absence of documented interactions isn't a guarantee that none exist.
Run your exact medications through the search tool on this page to be sure, and talk it over with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on anything else.
