Glucosamine Sulfate
Glucosamine is a natural compound found in the body, particularly in the fluid that surrounds joints. It is often used as a dietary supplement to help with joint health, particularly for conditions such as osteoarthritis. Glucosamine is believed to work by helping to reduce inflammation, promoting the repair of damaged cartilage, and slowing down the loss of cartilage. There are several different forms of glucosamine supplements, including glucosamine sulfate, glucosamine hydrochloride, and N-acetyl-glucosamine. Glucosamine sulfate is the most commonly used form in supplements. It is important to note that glucosamine sulfate is derived from shellfish (specifically the exoskeletons of shrimp, lobster, and crabs) and can be problematic for people with shellfish allergies.

Calcium
Calcium is a vital nutrient found in various foods such as dairy products, certain vegetables, and many fortified items. Over 99% of the body's calcium is stored in the bones and teeth, predominantly as hydroxyapatite. The remaining calcium circulates in the blood, extracellular fluid, muscles, and other tissues, where it is essential for processes like nerve signaling, muscle contraction, vascular activities, glandular secretion, and maintaining cell membrane and capillary permeability. It also plays critical roles in enzyme reactions, respiration, kidney function, and blood clotting, and is involved in neurotransmitter and hormone release, amino acid uptake, vitamin B12 absorption, and gastrin secretion. Calcium balance changes with age: it is positive during periods of growth, stable in adulthood, and tends to become negative in older age. Calcium loss occurs through feces, urine, sweat, and shedding skin cells. In women, reduced estrogen levels decrease calcium absorption and retention, increase bone turnover, and lead to lower bone mass. Calcium supplements come in various forms, including citrate and carbonate, which differ mainly in their calcium content and absorption rates. Calcium citrate is easily absorbed and can be taken without food, making it suitable for older adults or those with low stomach acid. In contrast, calcium carbonate, which contains a higher percentage of calcium, is best absorbed when taken with meals.

Formula |
- All sulfate
- Andrew Lessman's Glucosamine 1500 with Chondroitin 1200 delivers the optimum potencies and ideal forms (All Sulfate and Sodium-free) of the most essential ingredients for the repair and maintenance of healthy joint tissue. This unique formula begins with clinically-established levels and forms of the most well-researched natural ingredients for joint health: Glucosamine Sulfate (1,500 mg) and Chondroitin Sulfate (1,200 mg). Glucosamine and Chondroitin have been recognized as the first line of natural defense for joint health. These unique ingredients are not drugs treating joint ailments, but more importantly, represent the vital structure of joint tissue itself. The benefits of Glucosamine and Chondroitin have also been shown to extend beyond our joints and also promote the resiliency of other flexible tissues in the body, such as the skin, arteries, veins and heart valves. Glucosamine Sulfate has long been viewed as the first line of natural defense for our joints, but unlike ordinary products, we do not use unproven and ineffective Glucosamine HCI (Hydrochloride). We only use the form of Glucosamine established as effective in the scientific literature - Glucosamine Sulfate. We also use Sodium-free Chondroitin sulfate, which eliminates the unnecessary and undesirable sodium present in ordinary Chondroitin Sulfate. Properly delivered, Glucosamine, Chondroitin and Sulfur from Sulfate represent the vital building blocks or the "bricks and mortar" of our joints. By providing these essential structural molecules in their optimum forms and at their ideal potencies, we deliver maximum benefits to joint structure, health and function. Our joints never cease working on our behalf and our uniquely formulated and ideally balanced Glucosamine 1500 with Chondroitin 1200 is the perfect response to the consequences of a lifetime of wear and tear.
