Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
K Alkaline contains one active ingredient: potassium. Potassium is a mineral your body needs for nerve and muscle function, including keeping your heart rhythm steady.
The capsule also contains three inactive ingredients (hypromellose, L-leucine, and silicon dioxide), which are fillers and binders that hold the supplement together.
Does it work?
Couldn't assess
The product facts we hold do not include effectiveness ratings for potassium in this form or dose, so we can't tell you from our data whether it works as intended.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Potassium from food is safe, but supplements carry real risk — especially if you have kidney disease, where even small amounts can build up to dangerous levels. The most common side effects from oral potassium are stomach upset: abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, belching, and gas.
Rare but serious effects include irregular heartbeat, low blood pressure, and confusion. For pregnancy, the data rates potassium as likely safe, but supplements should only be used under medical guidance — dietary potassium is fine.
For breastfeeding, check with your doctor before taking supplements, though dietary potassium is appropriate.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking K Alkaline, double-check it with your doctor if you're on potassium-sparing diuretics, ACE inhibitors, or ARBs — all carry Moderate-severity risk of high blood potassium. If you have any blood pressure or heart medication, bring the bottle to your pharmacist to review.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Potassium supplements are necessary only if your doctor prescribes them or finds you're deficient. If you take blood pressure medications (especially diuretics, ACE inhibitors, or ARBs), a potassium supplement could be risky without your doctor's oversight.
Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before you start — they can check if this is right for you and monitor your levels.

K Alkaline by Moss Nutrition Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
K Alkaline by Moss Nutrition contains potassium, which interacts with several blood pressure and heart medications.
The most serious concern is with potassium-sparing diuretics (water pills that keep potassium in your body) — combining them with this supplement raises the risk of dangerously high blood potassium levels (hyperkalemia), a Moderate-severity interaction affecting how your heart beats and blood pressure.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
ACE inhibitors and ARBs (two common classes of blood pressure drugs) carry the same Moderate-severity risk. Both slow how your kidneys clear potassium, so adding a potassium supplement on top can push levels too high.
Altogether, these interactions span 62 individual medications.
If you take any blood pressure medication — especially water pills, ACE inhibitors, or ARBs — check your exact medications with the tool on this page before starting potassium supplements. Your doctor or pharmacist may need to monitor your blood potassium levels.

For each ingredient in K Alkaline with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Potassium
Ace Inhibitors (Aceis)
Using ACEIs with high doses of potassium increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
ACEIs block the actions of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and reduce potassium excretion. Concomitant use of these drugs with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia. However, concomitant use of these drugs with moderate dietary potassium intake (about 3775-5200 mg daily) does not increase serum potassium levels.
Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (Arbs)
Using ARBs with high doses of potassium increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
ARBs block the actions of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and reduce potassium excretion. Concomitant use of these drugs with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia. However, concomitant use of these drugs with moderate dietary potassium intake (about 3775-5200 mg daily) does not increase serum potassium levels.
Potassium-Sparing Diuretics
Concomitant use increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
Using potassium-sparing diuretics with potassium supplements increases the risk of hyperkalemia.
