Keto Blast Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by Platinum 500
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Keto Blast against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
Keto Blast contains three active ingredients: folic acid (a B vitamin), vitamin B12, and apple cider vinegar. Folic acid helps your body make new cells and is used to prevent and treat folate deficiency.
Vitamin B12 is essential for nerve function and red blood cell formation. Apple cider vinegar is a fermented vinegar product.
The product also contains inactive ingredients—cane sugar, tapioca, water, pectin, sodium citrate, citric acid, malic acid, natural apple flavor, carrot, apple, black currant, beet, and pomegranate—which give the gummies their texture, taste, and appearance.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
Folic acid in this product is effective for folate deficiency and likely effective for preventing methotrexate toxicity and neural tube birth defects. It's possibly effective for depression, a specific gum condition caused by phenytoin, and cognitive impairment.
Vitamin B12 is effective for B12 deficiency and Imerslund-Grasbeck disease (a rare absorption disorder), and likely effective for cyanide poisoning. It's possibly effective for canker sores and a type of nerve pain called postherpetic neuralgia.
Apple cider vinegar has insufficient evidence in our data to rate its effectiveness for any condition—including acne, athletic performance, cognitive function, dental plaque, depression, or eczema. The evidence just isn't established for these uses.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Folic acid and vitamin B12 are both generally well tolerated at normal doses. Folic acid is recommended during pregnancy at standard prenatal doses to help prevent birth defects, and is considered safe while breastfeeding at normal levels.
Vitamin B12 is needed in pregnancy and during breastfeeding and is considered safe at recommended amounts—follow your provider's guidance. Apple cider vinegar in food amounts is generally safe, but the product's safety data is limited.
At larger doses or with long-term use, apple cider vinegar may cause low potassium levels (hypokalemia), bone loss, and other serious effects. Folic acid at high doses (15 mg daily) can cause sleep disturbances, confusion, irritability, nausea, and altered mood.
Large doses of folic acid can also worsen nerve damage in people deficient in vitamin B12, so don't self-treat suspected anemia without professional guidance.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking this product, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you take seizure medications (phenobarbital, phenytoin, or primidone), cancer drugs (capecitabine, 5-fluorouracil, or methotrexate), the antiparasitic pyrimethamine, diuretics (water pills), digoxin (a heart drug), insulin, or diabetes medications. The interactions are moderate to minor in severity but matter for your treatment.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with strong clinical evidence behind its ingredients' uses. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Keto Blast may be right for you if you're looking to supplement folic acid or B12 and don't take seizure medications, cancer drugs, heart medications, diuretics, insulin, or diabetes pills. If you do take any of those, talk with your doctor or pharmacist first—the interactions are real and can affect how well your medications work or increase side effects.
Even if you're not on those drugs, it's worth confirming with your own healthcare provider that this product fits your needs.

Keto Blast by Platinum 500 Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Keto Blast by Platinum 500 does interact with medications, primarily through its folic acid and apple cider vinegar content.
The most serious interaction is folic acid with phenobarbital (Luminal), phenytoin (Dilantin), and primidone (Mysoline)—all seizure medications. Folic acid can reverse the effects of these drugs and increase seizure risk, so if you take any of them, you need to check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting this product.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Folic acid also interacts with cancer medications (capecitabine and 5-fluorouracil) and methotrexate by potentially raising toxicity or reducing effectiveness. It can also work against pyrimethamine, an antiparasitic drug.
Vitamin B12 has one minor interaction: metformin (Glucophage), used for type 2 diabetes, may lower B12 levels over time with long-term use.
Apple cider vinegar raises concerns with diuretic drugs (water pills), digoxin (a heart medication), and insulin—all can be affected by the low potassium levels apple cider vinegar may cause with prolonged use. It also has a minor interaction with other diabetes medications, which might lower blood sugar more than expected.
Altogether, these interactions span 202 individual medications.
Check your exact medications using the tool on this page before you start, and confirm with your own doctor or pharmacist if you take seizure drugs, cancer treatments, heart medications, diuretics, insulin, or diabetes pills.

For each ingredient in Keto Blast with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Digoxin (Lanoxin)
Theoretically, concomitant use of apple cider vinegar with digoxin might increase the risk of cardiac toxicity.
A case of hypokalemia related to chronic use of apple cider vinegar has been reported. Theoretically, overuse of apple cider vinegar could decrease potassium levels, increasing the risk of toxicity with digoxin.
Diuretic Drugs
Theoretically, concomitant use of apple cider vinegar with diuretic drugs might increase the risk of hypokalemia.
A case of hypokalemia related to chronic use of apple cider vinegar has been reported. There is some concern that people taking apple cider vinegar along with potassium depleting diuretics might have an increased risk for hypokalemia.
Insulin
Theoretically, concomitant use of apple cider vinegar with insulin might increase the risk of hypokalemia.
A case of hypokalemia related to chronic use of apple cider vinegar has been reported. Theoretically, overuse of apple cider vinegar concomitantly with insulin might increase the risk of hypokalemia.
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, taking apple cider vinegar with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Apple cider vinegar might reduce fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels and decrease gastric emptying in people with diabetes. However, not all research agrees. Theoretically, it might have additive effects on glucose levels when used with antidiabetes drugs.
Folic Acid
5-Fluorouracil
Theoretically, high doses of folic acid might increase the toxicity of 5-fluorouracil.
Increases in gastrointestinal side effects of 5-fluorouracil, such as stomatitis and diarrhea, have been described in two clinical studies when leucovorin, a form of folic acid, was administered with 5-fluorouracil.
Capecitabine (Xeloda)
Use of high-dose folic acid might contribute to capecitabine toxicity.
Clinical research suggests that higher serum folate levels are associated with an increased risk for moderate or severe toxicity during capecitabine-based treatment for colorectal cancer. Additionally, in one case report, taking folic acid 15 mg daily might have contributed to increased toxicity, including severe diarrhea, vomiting, edema, hand-foot syndrome, and eventually death, in a patient prescribed capecitabine.
Methotrexate (Trexall, Others)
Folic acid might reduce the efficacy of methotrexate as a cancer treatment when given concurrently.
Methotrexate exerts its cytotoxic effects by preventing conversion of folic acid to the active form needed by cells. There is some evidence that folic acid supplements reduce the efficacy of methotrexate in the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and theoretically they could reduce its efficacy in the treatment of other cancers. Advise cancer patients to consult their oncologist before using folic acid supplements. In patients treated with long-term, low-dose methotrexate for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) or psoriasis, folic acid supplements can reduce the incidence of side effects, without reducing efficacy.
Phenobarbital (Luminal)
Folic acid might have antagonistic effects on phenobarbital and increase the risk for seizures.
Folic acid can have direct convulsant activity in some people, reversing the effects of phenobarbital and worsening seizure control. Monitor closely for increased seizure activity.
Phenytoin (Dilantin)
Folic acid might reduce serum levels of phenytoin in some patients.
Folic acid may be a cofactor in phenytoin metabolism. Folic acid, in doses of 1 mg daily or more, can reduce serum levels of phenytoin in some patients. Increases in seizure frequency have been reported. If folic acid supplements are added to established phenytoin therapy, monitor serum phenytoin levels closely. If phenytoin and folic acid are started at the same time and continued together, adverse changes in phenytoin pharmacokinetics are avoided. Note that phenytoin also reduces serum folate levels.
Primidone (Mysoline)
Folic acid might have antagonistic effects on primidone and increase the risk for seizures.
Folic acid can have direct convulsant activity in some people, reversing the effects of primidone and worsening seizure control. Monitor closely for increased seizure activity. Note that primidone also reduces serum folate levels.
Pyrimethamine (Daraprim)
Folic acid might antagonize the effects of pyrimethamine.
Folic acid can antagonize the antiparasitic effects of pyrimethamine against toxoplasmosis and Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia. Folic acid doesn't antagonize the effects of pyrimethamine in the treatment of malaria, because malarial parasites cannot use exogenous folic acid. Use folinic acid as an alternative to folic acid when indicated.
Vitamin B12
Metformin (Glucophage)
Metformin, a common medication used to manage type 2 diabetes, has been associated with lower vitamin B12 levels in some individuals. Prolonged use of metformin can interfere with the absorption of B12 in the digestive system, potentially leading to a deficiency in this essential vitamin.
