What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Kibow Flora against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Kibow Flora by Kibow
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Kibow Flora contains six active probiotic strains: Lactobacillus paracasei (KB-9), Lactobacillus plantarum (KB-71), Lactobacillus rhamnosus (KB-66), Lactobacillus acidophilus (KB-27), Bifidobacterium lactis (KB-63), and Streptococcus thermophilus (KB-19). These are live, beneficial bacteria meant to support gut health.
The product also contains inactive ingredients: psyllium, stearic acid, and magnesium stearate.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The evidence for Lactobacillus acidophilus in this blend shows it's possibly effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), infection with Helicobacter pylori bacteria, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis. For Streptococcus thermophilus, the data we have doesn't establish effectiveness for any of the conditions it's been studied for—the evidence is too limited to rate it one way or the other.
We couldn't find effectiveness data for the other four strains.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Lactobacillus acidophilus is generally well tolerated in healthy adults and children. When taken with other probiotics, a small number of people have reported mild gastrointestinal side effects like stomach discomfort, bloating, gas, and diarrhea, though these are uncommon.
Because these are live organisms, there's a theoretical concern they could cause infection in certain patients—particularly those who are severely ill or immunocompromised. Streptococcus thermophilus is also generally well tolerated in healthy people, but people with weakened immune systems should be cautious.
We don't have pregnancy or breastfeeding safety data on file for either ingredient; talk with your doctor or pharmacist before use if you're pregnant or nursing.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take antibiotic drugs, don't take them at the same time as this product—separate them by a few hours, and ask your pharmacist for the right timing. No other interactions are documented for the strains we could check, but we couldn't verify four of the six ingredients, so run your full medication list through the tool on this page to be sure.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Kibow Flora is a multi-strain probiotic that may help with certain digestive and infection-related issues if you're generally healthy. The main thing to watch is taking it separately from antibiotics so the drugs don't kill off the live bacteria.
If you have a weakened immune system, are severely ill, or take any medications, check with your pharmacist first.

Kibow Flora by Kibow Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Kibow Flora contains six probiotic strains, and one of them—Lactobacillus acidophilus—has documented interactions we need to flag.
The main concern is with antibiotic drugs. Because L. acidophilus is made of live, active organisms, taking it at the same time as antibiotics might kill off a significant portion of the beneficial bacteria, which could reduce how well the probiotic works.
You'll want to separate when you take them—ask your pharmacist for the timing that works best for you.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Additionally, we could not find interaction data for four of the six strains in this product: Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and Bifidobacterium lactis. That doesn't mean they don't interact—it means we simply don't have the data on file.
One strain, Streptococcus thermophilus, was checked and shows no interactions documented in our data.
Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications. Before you start Kibow Flora, run your exact medications—especially any antibiotics—through the interaction checker on this page.

Lactobacillus acidophilus (KB-27)
Antibiotic Drugs
Theoretically, taking Lactobacillus acidophilus with antibiotic drugs might decrease the effectiveness of L. acidophilus.
L. acidophilus preparations usually contain live and active organisms. Therefore, simultaneously taking antibiotics might kill a significant number of the organisms. Tell patients to separate administration of antibiotics and L. acidophilus preparations by at least two hours.
