How safe is it?

L-Carnosine is generally well tolerated in short-term studies, but long-term safety data are limited — we just don't know enough about what happens if you take it for years. Some people have reported decreased appetite, dry mouth, small weight changes, foot and joint pain, or rarely, pneumonia.
The safety data advise against use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding because there isn't enough information to know it's safe in those situations.
