These are delivered in a liquid form with alcohol and structured water as inactive ingredients.

The evidence for this product's specific uses isn't established in the data we hold. Individual amino acids in the blend show varying support: glycine is possibly effective for schizophrenia, glutamine is effective for sickle cell disease and possibly effective for HIV/AIDS-related wasting, tyrosine is effective for phenylketonuria (PKU) and possibly effective for cognitive function, and lysine is possibly effective for cold sores.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Most amino acids in Matrixsome are generally well tolerated at typical doses, though long-term safety data are limited for several ingredients. Glycine, glutamine, tyrosine, phenylalanine, and serine can cause gastrointestinal upset like nausea, abdominal pain, or diarrhea — usually mild and dose-dependent.
Rare side effects include headache, fatigue, and insomnia with some amino acids; very high doses of serine can trigger seizures. For pregnancy and breastfeeding: aspartic acid should be avoided during both pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Serine should be avoided in both states due to insufficient data. Tyrosine, phenylalanine, lysine, and several others lack adequate safety data during pregnancy or breastfeeding — check with your doctor or pharmacist before use if you're pregnant or nursing.
Methionine, glutamine, histidine, and proline are likely safe from food amounts but lack studied data on supplement doses during these periods.

Before taking Matrixsome, check with your pharmacist if you take levodopa (Parkinson's), NMDA antagonists, clozapine or other antipsychotics, anticonvulsants, baclofen (muscle relaxant), monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), thyroid hormones, or 5-HT4 agonists. The most serious risks are with Parkinson's and NMDA medications — phenylalanine and threonine can interfere with how these work.

Matrixsome by Viatrexx Bio Incorporated is a liquid amino acid blend that does interact with several medications.
The most serious concern is phenylalanine with levodopa (a Parkinson's medication) — phenylalanine competes for transport into the brain and can worsen tremor, rigidity, and symptom fluctuations.

Glycine may decrease clozapine (an antipsychotic) effectiveness, though a small study showed worsening schizophrenia symptoms when combined. Glutamine theoretically antagonizes anticonvulsant drugs by increasing excitatory brain activity, though this hasn't been documented in humans yet.
Tyrosine interacts with both levodopa and thyroid hormones — it may reduce levodopa absorption and potentially amplify thyroid hormone effects. Phenylalanine also carries Moderate-severity risks with baclofen (muscle relaxant) and certain antidepressants called MAOIs, which can trigger dangerous blood pressure spikes.
Threonine may reduce the effects of NMDA antagonists (used for certain neurological conditions). Lysine carries a Minor interaction with 5-HT4 agonists, which are used for digestive motility.

Tryptophan
Cns Depressants
Theoretically, concomitant use of L-tryptophan with CNS depressants might cause additive sedative effects.
Clinical research shows that L-tryptophan can cause fatigue and drowsiness.
Serotonergic Drugs
Theoretically, combining L-tryptophan with serotonergic drugs might cause additive serotonergic effects.
L-tryptophan is a precursor to serotonin. Theoretically, combining serotonergic drugs with L-tryptophan might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects, including serotonin syndrome and cerebral vasoconstrictive disorders.
Glutamine
Anticonvulsants
Theoretically, glutamine might antagonize the effects of anticonvulsant medications.
Glutamine is metabolized to the excitatory neurotransmitter glutamate. Glutamate might have antagonistic effects with anticonvulsant drugs. However, this interaction has not yet been reported in humans.
Tyrosine
Levodopa
Theoretically, tyrosine might decrease the effectiveness of levodopa.
Tyrosine and levodopa compete for absorption in the proximal duodenum by the large neutral amino acid (LNAA) transport system. Advise patients to separate doses of tyrosine and levodopa by at least 2 hours.
Thyroid Hormone
Theoretically, tyrosine might have additive effects with thyroid hormone medications.
Tyrosine is a precursor to thyroxine and might increase levels of thyroid hormones.
Phenylalanine
Levodopa
Phenylalanine, especially in high doses, can reduce the effectiveness of levodopa.
Phenylalanine competes with levodopa for carrier-mediated transport into the brain. The resulting reduction in levels of levodopa in the brain can exacerbate tremor, rigidity, and the "on-off" phenomenon in patients with Parkinson disease.
Baclofen
Concomitant intake of phenylalanine may reduce the intestinal absorption of baclofen.
Phenylalanine and baclofen share the same intestinal carrier for absorption; phenylalanine competitively inhibits the absorption of baclofen, reducing its plasma levels.
Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (Maois)
Theoretically, concomitant use of L-phenylalanine and non-selective MAOIs might increase the risk of hypertensive crisis.
L-phenylalanine is metabolized to tyrosine. Some evidence suggests that L-phenylalanine, given with the non-selective MAOI pargyline, might prevent the elimination of tyramine, increasing the risk of hypertensive crisis. However, this was not reported in a small number of patients when using L-phenylalanine with the partially selective MAO-B inhibitor, selegiline.
Threonine
Nmda Antagonists
Theoretically, threonine might decrease the effects of NMDA antagonists.
Threonine increases central nervous system (CNS) glycine levels. Glycine seems to bind a site on NMDA receptors and enhance the activity of the receptors.
Glycine
Clozapine (Clozaril)
Theoretically, glycine might decrease the effectiveness of clozapine.
One small clinical study in patients with schizophrenia shows that adding glycine to clozapine therapy worsens symptoms of schizophrenia when compared with clozapine alone. The mechanism of this interaction is unclear.
Lysine
5-Ht4 Agonists
Theoretically, lysine may reduce the effects of 5-HT4 agonists.
Animal research suggests that L-lysine is a partial serotonin receptor 4 (5-HT4) antagonist and inhibits diarrhea induced by the 5-HT4 agonist, 5-hydroxytryptophane.
