The capsules also contain inactive ingredients including rice flour, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, cellulose, and vegetable cellulose.

Not established
Beta-sitosterol and beta-sitosterolin are likely effective for benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). They're possibly effective for familial hypercholesterolemia (inherited high cholesterol) and coronary heart disease when used as part of a heart-healthy regimen.

How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Both ingredients are generally well tolerated when taken short-term by most adults. The most common side effects are constipation, diarrhea, gas, indigestion, and nausea.
Beta-sitosterol may worsen acne in some people, and there's a rare report of acute pancreatitis in one person who started the supplement (symptoms resolved when he stopped). Appetite reduction has also been reported.
Safety data during pregnancy and breastfeeding is insufficient, so avoid supplemental use in these situations.

Suggested/Recommended/Usage/Directions
Recommended Dose: Adults and children 17 years and over: Take 1 capsule three times daily OR 2 capsules upon arising and 1 capsule before bed. Children 11 to 16 years: Take 1 capsule, twice daily. Children 5 to 10 years: Take 1 capsule, one to two times daily. For best results, take with water or juice between meals on an empty stomach. Use for a minimum of two to three months to see a beneficial effect.
Precautions
Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have sitosterolemia.
Risk Information: Not to be used by organ and tissue transplant recipients, including bone marrow and corneal transplants, individuals with a history of diabetes or multiple sclerosis, unless on the advice of and under the direct supervision of a health care practitioner.
Some individuals may experience temporary digestive problems, rashes, headache and fatigue.
