What’s inside
Full disclosure
Overcome Candy Tart Powder contains 11 active ingredients. Three branched-chain amino acids—L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, and L-Valine—support muscle recovery and protein synthesis.
Creatine Monohydrate is included to help with muscle strength and athletic performance. The formula also features several compounds that may support brain function and blood flow: Choline Bitartrate (a nutrient for brain health), DMAE Bitartrate (a compound thought to influence brain neurotransmitters), Alpha GPC (a form of choline linked to cognitive function), Agmatine Sulfate (a compound derived from an amino acid), and L-Citrulline DL-Malate (an amino acid that supports nitric oxide production and blood vessel function).
HICA Dihydrate (a metabolite of L-Leucine) and Glycerol Monostearate round out the active blend. The powder also contains inactive ingredients including silica, calcium silicate, natural and artificial flavoring, sucralose, stevia, malic acid, and acesulfame potassium.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Evidence varies by ingredient. Creatine Monohydrate is possibly effective for muscle strength, athletic performance, and sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss), and also possibly effective for certain rare brain conditions called cerebral creatine deficiency syndromes—but possibly ineffective for Huntington disease and osteopenia (low bone density).
Alpha GPC is possibly effective for Alzheimer disease, though evidence for cognitive function in general remains insufficient. L-Citrulline is possibly effective for athletic performance.
Glycerol is likely effective for constipation and possibly effective for certain skin conditions, though possibly ineffective for meningitis and stroke. For Choline Bitartrate, DMAE Bitartrate, Agmatine Sulfate, and HICA Dihydrate, the evidence we hold is either insufficient to rate their effectiveness or shows they are likely or possibly ineffective for the claims tested.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Creatine Monohydrate is generally well tolerated in healthy adults but calls for caution if you have kidney issues. The most common side effects are dehydration, diarrhea, gastrointestinal upset, muscle cramps, and water retention; rare serious effects include kidney problems and muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis).
Creatine is best avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. DMAE Bitartrate can cause abdominal cramps, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, and headache; it's best avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to limited safety data and some animal research concerns.
Choline Bitartrate is generally safe in food amounts but well tolerated only up to a daily upper limit of 3.5 grams; above that (especially at 9 grams or more), it can cause a fishy body odor, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Choline is important during pregnancy and breastfeeding but should be used only as advised by your doctor.
Alpha GPC is generally well tolerated in studies but long-term safety isn't fully established; rare side effects include dizziness, headache, insomnia, and stroke with use lasting 2 months or longer. Avoid Alpha GPC during pregnancy and breastfeeding without doctor approval.
Agmatine Sulfate appears well tolerated short-term but long-term safety is unclear; common side effects are diarrhea, nausea, and indigestion; avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding. L-Citrulline is generally well tolerated but may cause gastrointestinal discomfort and heartburn; avoid in pregnancy and breastfeeding without direction.
Glycerol is generally well tolerated but large doses can cause bloating, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and headache; use medicinal amounts only under doctor guidance during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take this product, check with your doctor or pharmacist if you're on blood pressure medications (antihypertensives)—Agmatine Sulfate and L-Citrulline can both lower blood pressure further. Also flag antidiabetes drugs (Agmatine may increase low blood sugar risk) and anticholinergic or cholinergic drugs (where Choline, DMAE, or Alpha GPC might weaken or amplify effects).
If you take scopolamine patches (Transderm Scop) for motion sickness, let your doctor know—Alpha GPC may theoretically reduce their benefit. No interactions are documented for the remaining ingredients we could check.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This powder targets athletic performance and muscle recovery with creatine, branched-chain amino acids, and citrulline, plus ingredients meant to support brain function and blood flow. It's worth considering if you're training hard and don't have kidney issues, high blood pressure, or diabetes—but those conditions warrant a conversation with your doctor first, especially if you take medications to manage them.
Talk with your doctor or pharmacist before starting, particularly if you take blood pressure or diabetes medications.

Overcome Candy Tart by GymFlo Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
GymFlo's Overcome Candy Tart Powder contains several ingredients with documented interactions: Choline Bitartrate, DMAE Bitartrate, Alpha GPC, Agmatine Sulfate, and L-Citrulline DL-Malate.
The most serious interactions are Moderate in severity—Agmatine Sulfate and L-Citrulline can both lower blood pressure when combined with antihypertensive drugs (medications that treat high blood pressure), and Agmatine may also increase the risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) if you take antidiabetes drugs. Altogether, these interactions span 483 individual medications.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Choline Bitartrate, DMAE Bitartrate, and Alpha GPC carry Minor interactions. Choline and DMAE may theoretically weaken the effects of anticholinergic drugs (often used for motion sickness, bladder problems, or certain eye conditions), while DMAE might also amplify the effects of cholinergic drugs (which increase acetylcholine levels).
Alpha GPC has a Minor interaction with scopolamine (the patch form, Transderm Scop), and may theoretically reduce its motion-sickness benefits.
We could not check L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, L-Valine, or HICA Dihydrate—we hold no interaction data for those ingredients. Creatine Monohydrate and Glycerol Monostearate, which we did check, show no interactions in our data, though that's not a guarantee none exist elsewhere.

For each ingredient in Overcome Candy Tart with known interactions, here are the types of medications they can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Agmatine Sulfate
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, agmatine might increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
Animal and in vitro research suggest that agmatine has mild hypoglycemic effects.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, agmatine might increase the risk of hypotension when taken with antihypertensive drugs.
Animal research suggests that agmatine can modestly decrease heart rate and blood pressure.
DMAE Bitartrate
Anticholinergic Drugs
Theoretically, deanol might decrease the effectiveness of anticholinergic drugs.
Deanol is thought to increase acetylcholine levels.
Cholinergic Drugs
Theoretically, deanol might increase the effects and adverse effects of cholinergic drugs.
Deanol is thought to increase acetylcholine levels.
L-Citrulline DL-Malate
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, concomitant use of L-citrulline with antihypertensive drugs might have additive effects and increase the chance of hypotension.
L-citrulline is converted to L-arginine, which can increase nitric oxide and cause vasodilation. However, a meta-analysis of 5 small clinical studies suggests that taking L-citrulline 3-6 grams daily for 1-8 weeks does not lower blood pressure when compared with control.
Phosphodiesterase-5 Inhibitors
Theoretically, concurrent use of phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5) inhibitors and L-citrulline might result in additive vasodilation.
L-citrulline is converted to L-arginine, which can increase nitric oxide and cause vasodilation. Theoretically, taking L-arginine with PDE-5 inhibitors might have additive vasodilatory and hypotensive effects. However, in studies evaluating the combined use of L-arginine and sildenafil for erectile dysfunction, hypotension was not reported.
Choline Bitartrate
Atropine
Theoretically, choline might decrease the effects of atropine in the brain.
Animal research shows that administering choline one hour before administering atropine can attenuate atropine-induced decreases in brain levels of acetylcholine. Theoretically, concomitant use of choline and atropine may decrease the effects of atropine.
Alpha GPC
Scopolamine (Transderm Scop)
Theoretically, alpha-GPC might decrease the effects of scopolamine.
A small clinical study shows that alpha-GPC can partially counteract the attention and memory impairment effects caused by scopolamine given intramuscularly. Whether alpha-GPC can decrease the beneficial anti-motion sickness effects of the scopolamine patch (Transderm Scop) is unclear.
