Here's the simple version: Benazepril (Lotensin) is already working to lower your blood pressure. Agmatine, based mostly on animal studies, may also nudge blood pressure and heart rate down a little. Stack those two together and the worry is that your pressure could dip more than you want.

If that happened, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, or woozy, especially when you stand up quickly. I want to be honest though: this is a theoretical concern drawn from lab and animal work, not strong human data, so for most people it may not be a big deal. Still, if you're starting agmatine, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor, and keep an eye on how you feel. Don't change your benazepril on your own.

What Is Benazepril Used For?

Brand name: Lotensin

Benazepril — sold as Lotensin and under the generic names Benazepril and Benazepril Hydrochloride — is approved to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events, including strokes and heart attacks.

It can be used on its own or combined with a thiazide diuretic (water pill) when blood pressure needs extra control. Lotensin is specifically indicated for the treatment of hypertension to lower blood pressure.
